You only have to put the public IP you got from Amazon (not this ec2-xx-xx-x-xxx.eu-central-1.compute.amazonaws.com) in both DNS A-record-fields.
For my tk-domain it was easy as f**k. Just login on dot.tk and go to "Domains -> My domains -> Manage Domain -> Manage Freenom DNS" and then put in your IP in both target-fields and click on "Save changes". That's all I did and it worked perfectly within minutes.

Support told have to do a configuration.
I did not find this setting, but domains began to work for me.
You will need to go into your settings and enable embedding for your Google Site on your Freenom domain. You can find the embedding setting in Manage Sites > General > Security on sites.google.com.
