NEM Community Fund (aka NEMtopia)

So is this the latest voting procedure?

- new proposal by anyone (e.g. funding of a project; changing of a feature etc.)
- community votes
  -> community votes yes*: proposal is forwarded to the core team** which can:
    a) accept it
    or
    b) suggest a modified version of that proposal (optional with a short written statement)
    or
    c) put in a veto***
  -> if the core team suggests a modified version
    => community votes again
      -> Majority now votes for original proposal: it is accepted
      -> Majority now votes for the modified version of the core team: it is accepted
  -> if the core team puts in a veto (this means the core team must provide the reasons for the veto in a written form)
    => community votes again
      -> Majority now votes against proposal: it is rejected
      -> Majority still votes for the prospoal: the core team now has to provide a modified version of the proposal or accept the prospoal

* When is a vote undertood as yes or no? a) Simple majority decision? b) It is "yes" if the importance (POI) of the yes voters did not reach a specific value? c) Something else?
** Who is that? Core devs only? Core devs + core marketing team?
*** How exactly does the core team decide if they put in a veto or not?

No, we agreed that it doesnt make sense to vote again if the core team put in a veto, right?

makoto, your proposal could end up in an infinate loop.

I think the core team should have two kinds of no and two kinds of yes.

First yes, that is great, here is all the cash.
Second yes, that is good, here is a little cash, meet some milestones and come back and talk to us.

First no, no way ever you must be crazy, don't talk to us again.
Second no, "maybe" we will say yes if you do ______________.  Think about it, start over, and try again.

I think it should be done like that always. Well at least... Milestone approval stuff...

Is there anything happening with this Community Fund?

We will announce details shortly and open it up.  :slight_smile:

Oh boy...I'm sure we're in for another round of controversy :)
Looking forward to it as well !

I don't expect any controversy :slight_smile:

This is a Great Idea we could use these funds to fund advertising systems that people can deposit XEM into and pay for their advertising with the network in this way.

Like http://freebitco.in/?r=71816 does we can create something along those lines.

Complete with a Weekly and Monthly Raffle and Gambling etc

This should be to hard to create and also give a referral program exactly like these guys are doing.

They might even setup a NEM Faucet if you contact him and ask nicely

They made one for DOGECoin but I don't think they bothered with any others yet.
