Some translations have come in from the community. That is great.
It would still be nice to have a Japanese, Spanish, and German translation. Nobody has volunteered for those yet.

Hello, jabo38. Here’s japanese translation.

Since the launch of NEM(2015/Testnet2014), there has been an ongoing exchange in the community. Whatever.
Nevertheless, everyone has contributed to the development of NEM / Symbol. Criticism, praise, ideas, whatever. Not always popular, these contributions have nevertheless
contributed to the development.
Some of these people will be missing from this list. That’s why I don’t think it’s justified to perpetuate such a list, in the Nemesis block.
The Nemesis block should contain all the necessary Nemesis-addresses and nothing else. Perhaps also for reasons of data protection, but there are certainly different views on that.
The Nemesis block should be free of any unnecessary ballast.
Isn’t there a better way to perpetuate such a list?
Thx!
It is open to community suggestions and there is ample time I think for people to suggest those that have been left out or for a person to suggest themselves.
The second post of this thread will list the final names and message. If anybody would not like to be thanked, they will have a chance to have their acknowledgement removed. Most of the names though on this list will be people that are active on Github, Telegram, or the forum so their participation as community members in an helping to bring this open source project to launch is already known publicly.
Thank you. I have added it!
Can you rule that out?
I’m not sure what should be ruled out when you mention data protection or what the different views are, but one of the most strict guidelines for data protection come from GDPR. If you are referring the GDPR, this message is compliant.
As I mentioned in the OP, no other information about a person will be written in the message, only the name in relationship to a thank you message. Twitter/Telegram/Github and works that a person did will not be included in the message.
Hi jabo38, sorry I don’t want to bug you further. Nevertheless, still a small supplement.
After that I will not comment on this topic.
It is possible to suggest someone anonymously. Thus, it is not clear whether the person in question, agrees with the nomination, or knows about it.
E.g., Maybe someone, who was nominated anonymously, gets into a dispute with NEM and sues for deletion of the name in the Nemesisblock.
I am not a lawyer, but these are all things to consider.
My point here is not to badmouth a proposal or the like.
My point is that we don’t get in trouble later because of such a list in the nemesis block. That´s why I´m against such a list in the nemesis block.
The other points I mentioned above.
The story speaks for itself anyway.
Thx!
@garm
Maybe you are right!
The situation is complicated enough by itself so it should be more wise to avoid any complication
in future even if this initiative is very nice and for sure it would be nice for persons that contributed to see his/her name or nickname stored in blockchain.
@jabo38
Do you know if any other project made a thing similar to this and if they had any problems later?
This initiative look to me as a double edged sword! That is only my opinion.
I would say that sometimes the best intentions could lead to worst problems.
There are really no problems. Thanking a person is covered under freedom of speech. Whether this is on the internet, blockchain, blog or newspaper, it doesn’t matter. If I say, “NEM would not be what it is today without the contributions of Jaguar0625.” That is covered as a basic and protected freedom in most countries. It is an opinion and mentioning somebody’s name in public if done in an honest way can not be challenged in court.
As I mentioned this does not violate privacy laws like GDPR and is compliant.
And again, there will be a time for people who are on the message to say they don’t want to be. I’ll also make an effort to contact those people who are on the list too and alert them incase they aren’t away.
Hello. Thanks for your fast reply!
Well, if this is the case and there won’t be problems I do not see any
reason why not support this initiative! :
Hi all. The team is working hard on Symbol’s launch!
I’ll be locking this doc at the end of this month.
Please help nominate Nembers that have helped to make NEM great.
Wow! it’s been a pleasure to contribute to NEM in the best times
Thank you!
Круто!)
Thanks for the long list of names!
I’ll be locking the doc. Any future suggestions will have to be sent to me on Telegram if you would like a name added.
In a few days, I’ll be posting the full list of names and message in the 2nd post of this thread for community feedback.
I’m really happy to see all the help from the community giving suggestions. The following is a draft message. I would like to seek comments and feedback from the community.
“Small acts, when multiplied by millions of people, can transform the world” Howard Zinn
Development on the Symbol blockchain started in December 2016, and NEM community efforts date back even further. With that in mind, we would like to recognize those that have made contributions. It has been and will continue to be a community effort.

I think that Howard Zinn’s words are very much in line with NEM. Nice. I love it.
Is it over? May you add my name too?
