2 Username Issue

Hello,

I had issue with with my nano this morning thinking my xem coins disappeared…so, i accidentally created another username with the same private key thinking it would restore my xem coins…i had since fixed the issue just by choosing the node and everything is fine…but i do want to delete the newly created username…if i purge this newly created username, would it delete my original username and nem coins as well? If anyone has gone through a similar situation, kindly let me know how you went about resolving the issue…thanks!

Just look in the nano wallet folder and delete the wallet file for the one you don’t want. As long as you have your keys stored somewhere you can’t delete your “account” so to speak

NEVER delete any wallet (.wlt) that is in your computer.

When imported in the app, a copy of the wallet is stored in the browser local storage, it is the one that is deleted on purge.

You can purge safely if you have the private key (somewhere safe) and the wallet file in your computer so you can re-import it.

Just curious, but from my playing I thought as long as you have your private key you can recreate your wallet buy doing a key import?

I switched from Safari to Chrome…for some reason, the wallet file doesn’t work on Safari bc the file I downloaded didn’t provide a .wlt file…so, when I gave it a new .wlt extension and used Chrome, it worked! Thanks for the replies! :slight_smile:
