A map of the crypto coin landscape evolution. The basic ABC's

I recently came across this link for the the "Map of Coins" website.  http://mapofcoins.com/  I was very impressed with the work of the website, but felt like it wasn't an accurate map in that the important coins are not highlighted.

I have made this map based on coins with the highest marketcaps or in some cases the platforms that haven't been released yet, but are impressive concepts and have a good backing.

A. After [url=http://www.coindesk.com/information/what-is-bitcoin]Bitcoin came out lots of imitation coins tried to copy it.  They made small modifications to the code, but were really the same thing.  Most of these have had their market value crash and are dead.

B. [url=https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Litecoin]Litecoin was one of the first real innovated forks of Bitcoin.  At the time it was billed as Asic proof, but now uses Asics in a positive way to keep the network secure.  One problem is that 25% of Litecoins are owned by 3 wallets.

C. The success of Litecoin spawned almost 1000 clones.  All of which have no real innovation and should fade away more than they already have.

D. [url=https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=361813.0] Dogecoin is the exception to the rule, a coin that turned out to be fun and got a real community.  It is a clone of Litecoin with lots and lots of coins so anybody can have some.

E. [url=http://namecoin.info] Namecoin is a truly innovative coin.  One of the first to do something original.  Namecoin is a fork of Bitcoin but its blockchain can store data. One possible use of this feature is to create a new DNS system, but the idea didn

Wow…great article with lovely visual display at the start. I learnt about some other coins/ platforms so thanks a lot Jabo, you also kept the info short and crisp on each which I appreciated.

Nice!

Nems official launch is in days? Better tell the devs lol

Nems official launch is in days? Better tell the devs lol

Hahaha. It's just a matter of how many days.

No Qora in the map  >:(

well 60 days is still in days. ;) Seriously I think we need to get Beta fine tuned first and there is still multisig that I believe should be, first and foremost, a pre-requisite of the launch. But we should be there.

Anyway good job, Jabo!! Would do with a higher graphics. One of these days, I am going to do a syndicated write up based on the good articles some of you have contributed.

No Qora in the map  >:(

This is the November map. If Qora releases that long awaited client and becomes the first coin to successfully install AT and the price shoots up, I will have to add it to the map.

But this map was made to explain where the coins/platforms with the biggest marketcaps came from, or in the case that it hasn't been released, then the platforms that are expected to have very large market caps.

Right now Qora just isn't there yet, but I see a chance of it happening.

Nice!

Yes, I made this after seeing mapofcoins.  I loved the concept but I wanted to see a map that focused on market caps and not timelines.

It was good for me too because I was forced to learn somethings I didn't know when making it.  But now I have a much better vision of the whole landscape and the different directions things are going.

Nice summary. You could just resize the image and it would look a lot better.

Nice work.

Its very clear information!!

You forgot the NODE.  :o But is a NICE work! Translated to [url=https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=853794.0]portugese in BTT 8)

Tried to make a list of coins, but was abandoned, but not so well summarized https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=134179.0

Wow! that was awesome you translated it.  Already quite a few comments.  I guess I should post it on BTT in English then too.

As for the Node issue.  I have been watching it closely but the market cap isn't high enough.  I generally only included coins that are up in the top 10, or very possibly will be in the top 10 after their official release.  So if Node gets a big pump, I will definitely add it and take something else off, probably Nubits.

I remember this thread.  I read over it many times and it helped me when I was starting to learn about crypto.

Those links behind each coin to more information really helped too.  I think I just might do that to this post before I post it.  That way people can read more about each coin.

Edit: I put the links in!

BTW, how is the subject line "A map of the crypto coin landscape evolution.  The basic ABC's"?

Should I change it to something else?

Asked to pin the topic.

NODE has a reasonable distribution. Just an account with 15M earlier. Others have less than 5, and most, 500K (stake).
But there were many early sales, she started undervalued. Now it's even cheaper. It solves the problem of bloated blockchain, by not creating empty or with few transactions blocks; and forgers whales.
But the fees are fixed and high, to discourage bots that increase the rating of forging.

This topic also guided me in the beginning.

I'll put links to the information pages of coins.

Many people / investors are discouraged to learn about criptocoins because of the lack of relevant and organized information. A summary of this so who knows what bitcoin is, at least, is already a great guide.

You can put the same way I would, in en: List of Cryptocoins according to its technological innovation.  :)
