About saving the addresses for NEMstake

I'm a little bit concerned about how the addresses (especially the private keys of course) for the NEMstakes will be saved by the users.

A lot of people know how dangerous it is if you do mistakes at this step, but there are also a lot of people who don't know how to handle it safely.

And if I explain in this thread that you should never ever save the private key unencrypted to your hard disk, stick, SD-card etc. on a computer which is connected to the internet, it won't help much, because a lot of people won't read this.
For the people who read this and already made the mistake: No Problem, right now it's not too late to generate a new address (just run the client and generate real account data again).

So what at least has to happen: The client should give more information on how to handle it. We really have to make sure that our non-technical stakeholders won't lose their stake, because this would lead into frustration and would damage the whole NEM project pretty badly.

It is too late, at least for those that already sent their NEMStake back.
You're rightfully worried as some people need to learn things the hard way. I'm however hesitant to give people advice on these things because they'll blame ME if it fails. I could tell them to encrypt everything and have x copies here and there. The loose the password and then I'm the asshole.

i think i might do a very clear video tutorial when i get home… shouldnt be difficult to do… i think people can follow video tutorials much much better than text + pictures…

Ok do that, I'm already working on a text tutorial.
