Adding XEM during delegation [SOLVED]

I’ve activated delegated harvesting, and there’s about an hour left of the 6 hours. I’ve just bought some more XEM, can I send these to my account, or do I have to wait until the delegation is complete? If I wait until the delegation is complete, which acct do I send the XEM to? Would the balance be reflected on my delegated acct or do I have to stop and start delegated harvesting.

Apologies if it’s a silly question.

i believe you have to stop and re do the harvesting to add the additional funds you sent, because when you do delagated harvesting, you will not be able to spend the xem coins…

anyone here can share their experience?

tnx

Kind regards,
Nels

You have to send the xem to your main account. The network will not accept any xem on your delegated account.

Thanks, I was going to choose a node from nodeexplorer.com for delegated harvesting. Is there a way to tell which node has been up the longest and is reliable? I was looking for one in the UK.

You can find out uptime of nodes from here: http://chain.nem.ninja/#/nodes/

Hi. NEM newbie here.

  • I erroneously started delegated harvesting from a brand new NEM wallet account (with a zero balance) and it failed when trying to send the 6 XEM fee (of course)
  • The remote account was still created but with an INACTIVE status
  • I then added insult to injury by purchasing XEM via Changelly and sent the XEM to the “delegated remote address” for the recipient of the purchased XEM.
  • In my Windows-based NCC desktop client, I see the 381 XEM balance showing up in the address book entry of the REMOTE account but I have no way to get to those funds and my PRIMARY account still shows a zero balance.

Can someone suggest a workaround to transfer those funds from the INACTIVE “remote delegated account” to my PRIMARY account?

Then I can just wait until I have a 10,000 XEM balance and start delegated harvesting the correct way

Any work-around suggestion would be highly appreciated. Current balance of XEM in the INACTIVE remote delegated account is 381 XEM.

Thanks,
Pat

Your remote account is just a normal account so far. In NCC you can click on “Account Details” on the left side and discover the private key for the delegated account. You can then import that private key into the wallet using “Add existing Account”. Then you are able to transfer the funds on the account.

Hi BloodyRookie,

Thanks for the response. Much appreciated.

· I purged my new nanoWallet and added the REMOTE account that had the XEM balance on it using “Private key wallet”
· I then logged in to nanoWallet and initiated a payment equal to the total amount (minus the 2 XEM transaction fee) to my original PRIMARY address
· Then I logged back into my old NCC Desktop where the PRIMARY account was still defined and the balance showed up perfectly and the REMOTE now reads zero balance which means it can be used later as the delegated remote when I vest over 10,000.00 XEM.
Question: Once I finally get delegated harvesting setup, do I still continue to send funds to my PRIMARY account (recipient) or should the REMOTE account be used as the recipient?

Question 2: How to remove defined accounts from nanoWallet?

Thanks.

Thanks suky321. I was able to create a wallet using the REMOTE delegated address and then send a full balance payment to my PRIMARY which zeroed the RMOTE account out.

  1. Once the delgatedaccount is activated, it cannot receive any funds any more. You always send funds to the main account.
  2. idk, maybe @Quantum_Mechanics can answer?

Q2.

NanoWallet uses the account structure of BIP32.

Let’s say that you can erase once.

Please understand that if the Primary key is the same, the address created additionally will be the same as the one added previously.

In NanoWallet, the same address is created for Remote account.
This specification is different from NCC.

For this reason, when switching from NCC to NanoWallet, it is instructed by NCC to deactivate Deligate and Activate with the NanoWallet Remote account.

Once added accounts, the menu to erase does not currently exist.

If you want to display only the Primary key, purge the wallet once and create a private key wallet using the private key of the Primary key.

thanks

Thank you kindly for the comprehensive response. VERY helpful. This worked fine.

Regards,
Pat
