Hi,
i reinstalled the client, copied my backedup wallet and addressbook in the nem folder and wanted to open my wallet. It says: oops address book can’t be read.
What’s the problem?
How did you back it up? Just copy the files?
i guess i used the backup function of the client. i made the backup several months ago, but i found the zip-file of my wallet on my usb drive.
is there another way of opening my wallet? i don’t have any addresses in my addressbook, so i don’t need it
Is the folder with the old installation still available or did you delete it? If it is still there you could simply copy it to the new destination. After you unzipped the backup files, were the names of the wallet and the address book files in the ncc folder exactly the same as before?
when i uninstalled the old version i also deleted the folder under C:\users… When i reinstalled i copied the .wlt and .adb files into the new folder under C:\users… I didn’t change the name of the files.
I am asking about the file name because in older ncc versions there was a bug that changed spaces in the wallet/address book names to “+” characters. Did you have any spaces in the wallet/address book name?
No the name has no spaces.
hmm
Then i hope you still have the private keys for your accounts.
Can you supply the ncc log? (means: start ncc and try to log in, After it fails, close ncc and supply log. That log should be small).
i still have my private key. so i guess now i have to create a new wallet and import my old wallet by using the privat key, right?
How can I supply the ncc log?
Creating a new wallet and then add an existing account using the private key is one way to be able to access the account again.
The log is in the folder c:\user<your user>\nem\ncc\logs. The most recent is the one i am interested in. You can upload it to some file hoster and post the link here.
