Anyone following Guerilla coin?

Is somebody into Guerilla coin? They have a "proof of strength" algorithm, which I don't understand till now because I didn't have time yet to search for detailed information. But it seems similar to the "proof of importance" idea.

I make a habit not following coins that incorporate PoW :)

I'm absolutely with you. But it's never bad to look at others. And isn't that Proof of Strength idea pretty close to our Proof of Importance?

All i see regarding PoStr is this

Guerilla is a new Proof of Strength Crypto-Currency.  Unlike other Proof of Stake coins, Guerilla seeks to end the security debate on Proof of Stake.

The solution is simple and rewards coin holders with higher interest for keeping coins in local wallets. Thus providing security and faster transactions for the blockchain.

Guerilla is rare,  with only 15,000,000 coins total even at the highest interest rates there will be no large influx of coins coming onto the market.

Which doesn't sound any different than what other PoW/PoS coins are doing only with a faster interest. Where are you getting the similarity with POI from ?

What is great is their website and that they already have an Androidd App.

"Proof of Strength rewards users in the same exact way as Proof of Stake with one distinguishing feature:  Coins in locally held wallets will stake much, much faster."

As I understand this means: There will be less coins in online wallets or speculation platforms (coin trading) and more coins inside "real" local wallets. This leads to more decentralization.

I can't find any technical details though. So I don't know if it is really comparable to our Proof of Importance algorithm. But the idea is similar, right?

I don't know what qualifies as local wallet but usually if you have your stuff on an exchange you don't stake at all.
What is for sure is that this isn't even remotely the same idea as POI unless I'm majorly missing something.

That is actually true...  ;D

Hm, I don't know. When I first read about it, it seemed to be something like POI. I guess you can't really tell withouth detailed technical information which aren't available as it seems.

Ours is not PoW for sure. It doesn't seem like a PoI to me. I read it, but my recollection says theirs is a shift from PoW to PoS, whereas ours is a dynamic shift from PoS to PoI.

I don't understand what could make you think that it's anything like POI ?
What do you think POI is ?  :)

I read something about Guerilla coin in a german forum and there it sounded similar to POI. (I searched for the topic 15 minutes now but I can't find it anymore.) Anyway... it was explained that "proof of strength" is an algorithm which prefers (regarding harvesting) nodes which help to strengthen the network. POI prefers nodes which are more important for the network (doing transactions = actually using the coin) which strengthens the network, too. Or not? Maybe thats the point where I got something wrong.
