we might one up NXT then. they have been working on smart contracts for a long time and I think will get them on the next update.
So it is possible to implementing it to NEM too?
Anything's possible, but there doesn't seem to be a compelling reason to do this.
The best thing is to learn from the mistakes of the others and avoid it. NXT and Qora will both have AT in testnet soon, and let's see how they hold up. I'm not getting my hopes high. Ethereum main coder (Vitalik) is a brilliant coder IMHO, and knows his shit, but if he changed plans more than 4 times about the OPCODES in Ethereum so far, something bigger is getting in their way.
BTW the Internet of Things from IBM is something that kind ressembles a blockchain of a multitude of interoperable devices, it's the most ambitious project I've seen after Bitcoin itself.
some interesting news about side / concurrent chains https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/xcurrency-introduces-internet-blockchains-blocknet/

I agree. Cryptocurrency is a marathon not a sprint so it is better to save up the energy and not to folllow the latest fad too quickly.

Yes, there is a similar project by Come-from-Beyond called Jinn. They want to create a ternary processor on a usb connected to a blockchain. The end goal is similar to that of IBMs project. www.jinnlabs.com
