Brain wallet help needed plz

Hi i may have lost my nem, plz help.

I wanted to put my nem in a brain wallet so i used nanowallet to generate one from my preferred choice of pass code. I assumed that the wallet could be recovered from this pass code only as it should hash into the same private key everytime.?

Now that i have reinstalled ubuntu and try to generate a wallet file using nanowallet sign up and my chosen passcode it is giving a different public address. Have i mistyped my passcode?

If the pass code is correct, can i somehow use it and the public address of my account to access my original account. I have nem there…

I did not keep he private key or the wlt file as i thought my passcode would generatenthe private key again when logging back in later.

Thanks, plz help!

If you created a brain wallet, you only need your password to recover it. On new computer, go to signup > brain wallet, and enter the same password you used to create the brain wallet the first time.
Once you have logged in, if you have no XEM, either you wrote down the wrong password, or your password was easy to crack, and someone stole your XEM. The downside of a brain wallet is that it is vulnerable to brute force attacks.

Thanks, my nem is still there, i will just try variation passwords in the hope of working out what i typed wrong.
I have tried a lot of obvious ones tho like caps, space at end etc.

Cheers

I wish you the best of luck!
