Can somebody help me...!

Hello, I am using MacBook Air (OS X Yosemite Version 10.10.1). I have installed Java 8. As suggested I am trying to install Standalone Package. I followed the instruction posted by instacash. However due to my limited knowledge in computer, i failed to redeem my NEM stake. I would really appreciate if someone could take the time to guide me through installation process; I am copying the entire instacash

I don't think you've told us what your actual problem is ?

I am pretty much lost too on how to get it to run on my Mac.

Here is what I do.

Download the stand alone.
unpack to my desktop and now there is a folder called "package"
I go into "package" and into a subfolder called "NIS" and then press Ctrl while clicking on the Jar file.
I click open.
I get a warning about running applications from unknown publishers.  I proceed.
It starts to run, then I get a pop-up with an error telling me to check console.
Then I give up.

That is about as far as I have gotten.

If I need to start it on terminal, I don't know what to type.  The "package" file is on my desktop, but I am not sure the command to type into terminal to get NIS to start.

Well my actual problem is I couldn

Can't help with that sorry. Have no MAC in reach and never really worked with one either…
I'm starting to think about getting a MAC from somewhere to try this out myself.

I dont know mac.
On linux systems, you have to change the file permission.
In order to do so, you open the terminal and you need to "navigate" by the files through terminal using "cd" command.
If you open it at home, lets say, you need to do a ls command to ser what is inside the file. You van do a cd /home double tab here for system show you the possibilities until you get the folder where your nem package is. The chmod + x is for change the file permission. To run the file the command is "./" followed by the name of file. At this case: nix.runNis.sh
Note if there are no permission for execution, the file dont run for safety reasons.
I dont know anyone of my friends who has a mac. S

Step 1: You will need the developers kit of Java.  Go here and download the version for Mac.
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jdk8-downloads-2133151.html

Step 2: Download the stand alone version of NEM from here http://bob.nem.ninja (get the latest version)

Step 3: unpack the file to the desktop and if done correctly, you should see a folder called

Yes but what have you been doing before ? This seems like that standard procedure.

I assume they was double clicking the nix.runNis.sh and NCC, just after download.

I didn't have the developers kit for Java.  (it is needed to run apps that aren't signed or approved or from known publishers or something like that)

And yes, I just double clicked on ./nix.runNis.sh  :-[

and also, and this is quite embarrassing, I didn't know to write cd Desktop and then cd package.  :-[ :-[ :-[

I have said it many times.  I am reaaaaaaaaally not a developer and don't understand those things and was pretty lost in terminal.  Actually, this was the first time ever I got a program started via terminal in a Mac.

It looks like simple for me. By talking with some friends with less informatic knowledge, I founded out its realy complicated cause people usually dont know the procedure to make this happen and the "Why all this?".

I use linux since 2006 and I'm learning more and more everyday, cause there are a lot of thing you can do just by terminal.

Well, As I tell people about info: Why would someone learn how to run aplications throught terminal, if they dont need it?

:P

Is it possible to put Nem wallet at Apple store, to make the process less complicated?

Im not so sure, but I think apple dont like "digital currencies" like bitcoin and similars.
