Confused about NEM and need some clarity

Hi, I'm new to NEM. My questions are: How do you become a NXT AE stakeholder? I'm guessing you have to purchase NEMstakes through NXT AE if yes that leads to my other question, If I purchase 0.01 NEMStake through NXT AE does that equate to 0.01 NEM that will be distrubuted to my NEM account? Fianl question is the redemtion process starting now and is it too late to purchase NEMstake? Thanks.

firstly your most welcome to nem and very glad to have you on board with us

1) you become an AE stake holder by buying nemstake on the AE.

2) 1 nemstake represents 1/4000 of all coins that will ever exists. So seeing as the total coins will now be slightly under 9billion I think 1 nemstake works out at 2259999 or something like that… And 0.1 would be one tenth of that of course.

3) it's not too late to buy but it's Anyones guess what might happen after nem trades properly on the open market. Because most stakes have been redeemed aswell as buying/selling restrictions of 0.1 the market cannot exactly be called a fair market… But it could go either wAyers after launch so that's up to you whether you decide to buy on AE.

Redemption has started so you can redeem your stake but you won't gst your coins until the genesis block. But hopefully that won't be too long away.

Thank you, that makes sense now I have a bit more knowledge of NEM now. I'm sorry for my lack of knowledge, what do you mean by I can redeem my stakes but I won't get my coins? Isn't redeeming the process of getting my coins?
Please correct me if I'm wrong, from what I have read I need to. Purchase Nemstakes and then send the Nemstakes to this address NXT-97MX-EWKV-CGKX-DA5WH attached with my real NEM account info that I created and after the release I will be sent the real NEM coins? Thanks.

You can send it for redemption but you will only get those coins at launch. In other words you won't get your coins immediately at redemption but later, when we launch. THat's all. So, nothing complicated.

In other words its a ponzi scheme stay the hell away.. but of course you can give as all your money :D ...
i believed in NEM and i am/was a stake holder but the FACT that the "Developing" Team is looking for 1001 excuses that the launch will be "soon" and they want to make it "better" is just ridiculous...NEM IS A PONZI SCEME and the proof is the NEXTAE the fact that some people are able to trade nem "stakes" and others like all the btctalk "stake" holders have to wait for release is one more proof of this SCAM COIN....
if you want to invest in crypto go with XRP,BTC,LTC what ever but NOT WITH NEM

LTC?  Really?

LTC?  Really?

Yeah, I had a good laugh at that one, too.

I'm surprised Paycoin wasn't mentioned  :P

The NEM launch will be when it is ready, and no sooner. It's very important not to make mistakes when real money is involved.

Believe in NEM and call it a scam? lol.

Panda coin is better.

Okay I'm having a real problem here…why is there no ignore list in this forum?
I don't think I'll survive this  ???

Deep breaths... Count to ten.. Lol

Its funny to read about excuses when there was never a release date yet

At least there's a certain kind of problems which will be solved at launch.

look mate the thing is everything that is released and not keeping you waiting for a magical day is better than, hearing excuses why "we need to make this, and that better BEFORE we can launch" there are coins and devs that get Things done and release and improve without promises for months... And I've been following this whole thing since sept 2014 and since Nov there are nothing more than promises...That it will release "SOON" (next month we promise  ::)"

blusherol couldn't have been following this project very closely if he's inclined to name it a scam.

By the way, I was a BTT stakeholder but i made the choice to transfer it into NXT Asset form, obviously you missed that large window of opportunity.

Rather then sell though, i bought more, then redeemed it.

Methinks blusherol is just upset he never took that chance so he could sell it for quick fiat, so instead vents his frustrations here (Quite obvious by his emotional, irrational accusations). Pity that. Don't pay such people much mind - they're often never pleased.

I always take a look at the project and its not scam. I invite you to take a look at github.

When the multisig feature be ready, its time to release the lions.

Then this young kids will be able to sell their stake as they wish.
See you around

I aggree 100%, but I have noticed what I assume is a NEM "Developer" has also been very unprofessional lately in multiple instances and that worries me. Either the stress is getting to them too but I fear it is going to be a bad reflection on the movement. I pay no mind to the trolls, but when someone from the "team" acts in those ways it is really bothersome. I hope it is nipped in the bud.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say you're talking about me  :-\

You don't need to worry about me.
I'm not developing NEM so noone can say "An idiot like that can't write quality code".
I'm not an official representative of NEM so noone can ask "Who will want to talk to / collaborate with such a dick?" (Prob was a bit but don't think I will be in the future)

I'm just some dude who happend to be around who built some stuff and helped with redemption when a set of hands was needed.

I will be no more than a member of this community. I've been very active on the forums and surely more affiliated with the core team but I'm not a cruicial part of the core team and I'll prob become less active after launch so yeah...no worries :)

I feel like I've acted less shity lately though...hmm...may need to reflect on that  :P

If you're not talking about me then nevermind  ;D

Your efforts are well intention-ed so don't get me wrong, and I prefer not to use the same language as you have as I don't think that is the case, but I just hate to see a blackmark on NEM because of immaturity/lack of professionalism. It is just the business manager in me coming out haha.

Thank you for clarifying you position in the community.
