Currently there are about 500 supernodes, is that decentralize enough? It seems there is no incentive for none supernode users to setup their own node after local harvesting is deprecated.
I don’t see harvesting being deprecated. The point of the newer low fees, and thus lower rewards, is so more people and companies can utilize the NEM network. The harvesting rewards will return, just in the form of much smaller fees.
I meant “local” harvesting. My question is geared towards increasing nodes, not rewards.
We need reliable nodes, forcing people to harvest locally on a home internet connection will probably make the network less reliable, not more.
Anyone can host their own node, and then use it for delegated harvesting.
I personally think 500 nodes is enough decentralization, at least for the time being.
