Delegated Harvesting Broken

Every time I open my wallets harvesting is inactive. Over the past year and a half (18 months) I have only harvested 150 xem probably by pure accident of having wallet open when block is created and just having manually restated it.

Why doesn’t the NANO wallet automatic find a node and restart harvesting? Why is this a manual process?

There is a tool that restarts delegated harvesting made by “marc0o” but, the page transmitting the keys is not using ssl or any other encryption so I am hesitant to try it. If anyone has tried it please let me know. Does it work well? Does it work with Trezor?

In any case I think the Nano wallet should do this function and not some tool, still props to marc0o for making it to solve this rather HUGE wallet/ harvesting problem.

@TulipMaina
When you remote node for delegated harvesting will restart you need also restart also manually harvesting in nanowallet. As far as I know you have two options:
a) Use marco tool. You must put there delegated private key. I’m using it and it works fine.
b) Second option is ask node owner to add your delegated private key to node configuration. If node will restart your harvesting will be restarted automatically.

@CryptoBeliever thx for your response. DO you know, does the tool work with Trezor?

But still, my thoughts are that this should be a wallet feature not an outside tool.

@TulipMaina yes it should. But because tool is jumping from node to node when you want check in nanowallet harvesting status you must first set same node on which switch the tool.
And of coure you put into tool delegated private key and not your account private key.
With delegated private key no one can steal your money. Only thing what can be done is stop harvesting for your account.
If you have big account (not like me) then you should have regulary harvest block and no need to check harvesting status.

Unfortunatelly there is right now no tool in wallet.
