Do nem stake auction before btc goes through a bubble

if BTC goes through a bubble and/or nxt has large rise, its likely that nem will fall in terms of BTC/NXT but stay at or near its current USD valuation
.
on the other hand if NEM doesn't fall against NXT, and NXT doesn't fall against BTC. NEM stakes will be very very expensive and people will be much more reluctant to purchase nem stakes(if they can even afford them), which could in turn cause a dramatic fall in value on the AE and also result in less than optimal funding provided by the auction.

what i suggest, is do the auction soon. if the average price per btc is say 2-3 btc. thats 310-465 btc total funding = $199,330 - $298,995 @ current values when 155 stakes are sold.

but if we were to do the auction now, or soon, and we get 2-3btc per stake(same price as the AE) and btc does go through a bubble and reaches a conservative(imo) $2500 - $3500/btc

we would be looking these figures as funding for nem development. not even including the development stakes.

((2 * 155) * $2500) = $775,000

((3 * 155) * $2500) = $1,162,500

((2 * 155) * $3500) = $1,085,000

((3 * 155) * $3500) = $1,627,500

Or we could auction half now half before full release?

we could quite easily be one of the if not the best funded crypto currency out there.

on a another note. it would also keep the buzz going between alpha and beta and word would spread fast about the auction after all the talk of the silk road auction. :smiley:

In a way you are write, but I also feel that once NEM launches real coins, the mkt cap of NEM will be 10x what it is not, but I find it very unlikely that BTC will be 10x.


This is all just speculation, though.

So the auction will be after launch then? I didn't realise this. Ok, just thought I'd throw the idea out there

so there is a chance they will be put towards nem development, infrastructure, marketing cost etc? would make a huge different.

Auction should be just before launch, but not without enough fanfare.

This is even more complex than to try deduce/guess value of fiat stakes…what i have also tried to
do the last 6 months. It seems that in fiat stakes we are going to see the biggest crash ever.
