Does anyone use AVAST software and have issues opening NCC

I cannot for the life of me open NCC. Every time I do I get a NIS is not available error and I cannot login. I have been able to access the light wallet but I would like to get into NCC. I have Java 8 Update 92 64 bit installed. As well as the latest NIS/NCC package.

My icon in the bottom right has 3 green sections but I still get the NIS is not available error.

What gives?

perhaps try connecting to a remote nis. pick an ip from any of the nodes shown on this site: http://www.nodeexplorer.com/, go to settings in ncc and enter the IP into the “host” part, save and it should work.

host: 127.0.0.1
port: 7890
?

Having exactly the same issue. However, in my case, changing IP does not fix it. I still get NIS is not available error. Do you have Avast firewall on?
