when i click on Start local harvesting

Are you really using a remote NIS (opposed to having NIS running locally)?
If so, you cannot do local harvesting, only delegated harvesting is allowed.

Well I tried looking for an hour about “how to run local NIS” and I was not able to find a thing.

What Operating System are you using?
Also, are you using Nano Wallet or NCC?

So I figured I should run the “runNis” bat file which worked.
Now I suspect I need to have 10k vested amount?

The client is displaying the vested amount of xem you have.
Alternatively you could provide the address of your account, then i can check it for you.

Great thanks. I just missed the part where I have to disconnect the remote NIS and run the local batch one.
