Error 500- Password invalid characters: i,g,h,j,

Hi.

I’m back again, I’m the affected of bad backup, when NEM go to market.

Yet i’m trying to enter in my wallet but do not work, can not open the wallet.

Only supports passwords with some characters (example: "i,g, h, j,… is invalid characters) , only is valid characters which we use to claim stakes.

I created two new wallet, is impossible add the new wallet, only wallet with c,d,a,0,2,9,… characters.

I have seen NEM going well in the market, sorrow gave me the millions nem abandoned.

The problem is not the password
The problem is the private key: it must be an exadecimal number

I lost my investment, 6,5 stakes.

I did not know they were different the private key and password.

I do not know much English, not thoroughly investigate the operation of NEM, now I undestand, the private key and password is different. :expressionless:

Perhaps there is some solution, wallets can be repaired?

Do you still have the wallet and the password? then you should be able to open the wallet.
Or did you create a new wallet?

patmast3r told me that there was error in backups, when the team pulled out the first NEM wallet, hopefully not entirely true…

I have the password of my wallet.

Wallet:

I opened the wallet with notepad. Appear rare letters. In the new wallet appears Chinese letters

Is impossible, appears “error 123: Address book file is corrupt”

NXT wallet confuses me, I habituated to use a single password. I thought that wallet password and private key is the same… I was completely blind, I did not see that all wallet have public and private code, as wallet created for stakes. On another occasion I will focus much more.

If possible enter on my wallets by brute force…

@rtstrx:

  1. Move the wallet and address book file to a safe location (Move, not copy).
  2. Start nis/ncc and create a new wallet with the same name and same password.
  3. Delete that new wallet file (the one with ending ‘.wlt’ in the users/your_user/nem/ncc folder).
  4. Copy the old wallet file to the folder users/your_user/nem/ncc.
  5. Start nis/ncc and try to open the wallet.

That will work if only the address book file is corrupt. If the wallet file is corrupt too then is looks bad.

Hmmm…this looks bad indeed.
I can offer you to try it myself, but you would need to trust me because i would need the password for the wallet.
You can PM me if you want to do that (don’t post any password here in the thread).

If you can not open, nothing happens, will not go against nem in forums, also i have my mistake. There are more dreams with little money.

We got a happy end this time, I was able to recover the private key to his account, he got his funds back :slight_smile:

That money is my only saving money, 100,000 NXT converted to NEM. The community is of great trust, could stay with 14 million NEM but they have given me, they have been able to recover my investment.

Tell everyone to save passwords and private codes in blank sheet. Mysterious things happen, perhaps from the other invisible side? Keepass file is corrupted when Bloodyrookie has tried to download. In the forest there all, be carefull of poisonous mushrooms.

A year ago, my wallet stopped working magically (error 123). First one wallet and then the other, Maybe it was on the same computer where they were created, or surely discard the original wallet when i update nem program, used copied wallet, does not matter, write to physical and problem solved.
