"Maximum harvesters online". I have no idea what to do… Have been getting this message for a couple of days already and I'm starting to loose interest on the whole thing. Can someone help? thank you.
I still have the same problem.
nis.nodeLimit = 5
nis.shouldAutoHarvestOnBoot = false
Rebooted multiple times, still 699.
any chance your using a remote NIS ?
No, local.
Went away after disabling port forwarding of 7890 to nis on my router.

Anybody?
I have booted my local node and booted the client. Nothing changes. I have around 30 000 Xem vested at the moment and more is on the way.
Look to see if you have any wallets that are already harvesting (restart your wallet if not as mine had to do so in order to show, which is probably a bug). Default I believe is set to 1 (well thats from what I noticed anyways)
I think I remember someone posting how to raise the harvesting limit to something higher than 1. Can't remember if it was here or on btt. Was a couple days ago.
under package/nis there is a file called config.properties look for:
# Maximum number of unlocked accounts. Meaning: maximum number of accounts that are allowed to use this NIS for harvesting
# Keep the value within a reasonable range, a too large value an cause problems for all harvesting accounts.
nis.unlockedLimit = 1
change the 1 to an higher amount

Can we do it with the installer or is it possible only with the standalone?
I can find the config.properties on my computer but don't have any program to open it. Is there any other way to do this?

You can open with text file and edit it. Are you using the standalone package or the windows installer?
I just ran into the same problem, the steps above seemed to work.

I too got the same error. I had to totally quit and restart the whole client. Someone suggested that when I clicked on local harvesting, it wouldn't allow delegated harvesting on the same NIS (running on your computer). Quitting then going right to delegated harvesting worked because only one harvester started.
All good, thanks to all!

This worked for me.
