ok, so I am very new to this unique currency and I have a few questions.
1- is the currency called NEM or XEM?
2- what is the breakdown of the currencys name below zero? (0.001 BTC is satoshi for example)
3- for harvesting is it true that I need 10000.000000 XEM to begin, OR 0.010000 to begin?
I certainly hope you dont really expect people to invest $20,000 at current rates just to become POI ?
nem is project or company name, xem is the currency that fuels it.
harvest you need 10k of xem or 3million for supernode.
10.000xem are about 2000dollar

Right now it’s 2227 USD. It pays to double check your math 
And before you say, that’s still a lot. You need to understand that balance is an improtant factor in your POI score. Anything under 10k and you simply would never find a block. It’s like in mining with bitcoin. You need at least some minimum hardware to be able to mine in any competetive way. Only in bitcoin 2k USD isn’t going to get you anywhere at all and you have to continously spend energy on top of that.
Also it seems like you think POI stands for Person Of Interest. It actually stands for Proof Of Importance.
