Having trouble opening up my nem wallet

When i try and open the nem icon on my desktop I keep getting that nis is running but ncc is stopped. I try and open nem in browser but it goes to page that tells me locahost8989 problem trying to access this site. I tried reinstalling java and this did not fix my problem. Anyone out there that may know what the problem could be in opening my wallet?

would uninstalling and reinstalling not be a good idea? I did save my private keys. I just don’t want to take chances because I do have alot of Nem in this wallet.

I have posted already on a recent post that I do have my private key for my wallet and it would be so simple to import my funds by using my private key from this wallet that is giving me problems. I do have another wallet set up on another computer and did choose on opening existing wallet but even when I inserted my private key or the remote private key I did not see any of my funds from this wallet that will not open for me.

The most important thing to do is the have your private keys backed up. If you have those, you will be fine. It is odd that you would not see your funds, but if the chain was an old and updated chain, you might not see your funds as it hadn’t synced unto the time where they were deposited.

You might want to try loading your key in Lightwallet. It is much easier to run.

How to use the NEM light wallet.
Go to http://nem.io/install.html
Download and unzip the nginx light wallet.
To start the server simply start nginx.exe.
Next, go to http://127.0.0.1:7777/ in your web browser.
To stop double click stop-nginx.bat.
You can now safely run your own light wallet locally!

Or you could follow the Quick Start guide using NCC and connect to a remote node.

I appreciate your help. BloodieRookie was able to help me open wallet that was giving me a few challenges. I had to delete a certain .json file in order to get my nem wallet to open properly. But thanks anyways for your feedback and help.

The file that needs to be removed is located in the C:\Users\USERNAME\nem\ncc\accounts_cache_mainnet.json
