I generated my wallet back in May 2017. After installing the wallet on my desktop, I saved the .wlt file and the .adb file for safe keeping. It does not appear as if I saved the raw private key or anything besides the .WLT file.
I’ve been able to access this wallet whenever I wanted without any issue until today. Today, I tried to log in and received this message NCC is stopped
I went to a fresh PC, equipped with the .WLT wallet file and installed NANO Wallet v1.4.3 from https://www.nem.io/install.html
After extracting the new wallet and running it, I’m greeted with this classic splash page for new wallets and i select LOGIN in the top right:
Now I have an empty Select a Wallet in local storage drop down menu, so naturally I select Import Wallet and load up my .wlt wallet file. But when I select this, nothing happens.
Am I missing a step? Why won’t this load up the wallet? I saw the tutorial on how to generate the JSON file before you migrate to this new wallet but since Step 1 of this tutorial is Open your wallet in NCC then I’m not sure that I can generate the JSON or display the private key.
Is there anything I can do to recover this? Either find a way to open my desktop wallet in NCC or find a way to import the WLT file into a new wallet.
