How is the open source GITHUB going?

Ok, I was looking up GITHUB commits and found a site that had commits for 2017 and 2018, Nem was way down the list,(Link below Nem is number 484).
https://cryptomiso.com/

Is this the open source repository? (I am thinking I am looking at the wrong site).
It also says “Java”?
https://github.com/NemProject

Also this link, I am not sure where it rated Nem for commits yet it gives Nem a “Coin Strength” rating of only 76%,(Under ‘Overview Tab’ -Algo Score).
https://coincheckup.com/coins/nem/

And have there been many commits from developers that are not Nem core Devs?

Then I could go on forever over this site, but I only get to read a few lines before I find something I have a conflicting view on.

This analysis opens up so many negative aspects.
Some I disagree on and others I am not qualified to comment.
Under Analysis- Coin Strength, (I do not understand the percentiles).
https://coincheckup.com/coins/nem/analysis

Just one last thing it rates ETH as 15 tx/sec, and Nem 10000 tx/sec.
Is this correct and does it amount to much at the end of the day?

Cheers

I was going to remove this thread yet I see it has had 34 views and not one response.

My first question is:

Does Nem still have respectable GitHub commits?

Can someone please shed some light on this.

Cheers

Hello,
If you looking on github you should look more on https://github.com/nemtech because there is going Catapult opensourceing and development.
Also for NIS1 there is still new development like for example Android/IOS wallet Nem Wallet Pro . You can join and prticipate in beta tests: https://t.me/nemwalletprobetatesters

10000tx/sec is not real in my opinion on public chain (on private chain yes).

So in general commits are down?
Nothing in that link looked even mildly impressive.

What impressive are you looking for on github? If you say I can help you find or say that it is not there.

Activity!

Is there good activity in the programming area?

cheers

Number of commits is a poor measure of activity. Measures like churn rate and average change complexity are better, but those are not as easy to calculate.

NEM is a bit behind on the number of developers relative to comparable projects, but both Foundation and TB are working to improving that.

okies, thanks for the reply.
It also appears a lot of these sites like the ones I posted above do not even look at the Nemtech repository.
cheers

Yet just looking, the last commit was 3 months ago?..wtf?

Currently only private net catapult is open sourced + dev tools. So any development towards the public net catapult (and public net features of dev tools) will be happening in a closed source manner. Additionally, private net was only open sourced when it was finished, and activity has swapped to public net, so thats why you will see little activity on public repos regarding core tech.

this is true, its the quality of the commit and reason for it rather than spam commits just to look good

I have always wondered and out loud as to why or if NEM core withdrew some XEM at the highs to be able to fund dev t for years to come…I hope so!

They would be stupid not to have grabbed some of that pie and I will bet they did.
It would be smart to cash out a bit in the good times to get you through the crypto winter.
