How many of you are using webstart in beta

There must be some program on your mac that prevents the monitor from spawning a new process. Gonna ask Jaguar again.

as i said i started this from a clean install.  i did a clean install about 2 weeks ago then installed the normal stuff (flash, java, firefox, utorrent,)  once that was done i did all my updates and after that i went to install the beta client.  this isn't the only system that isn't working either.  the other mac i have at work and my laptop also can not start the NIS and NCC.  my first assumption was a network problem but i have checked that to.

the work mac mini (os 10.7.5) has run nem via the webstart with no problem
my 13" laptop (os 10.10.2) has also run webstart with no problem
my 15" laptop (os 10.9.5) is the fresh install and has never had nem running on it

Very strange.

Have you tried the stand alone, just for the fun of it? If not, try that:
- Download the stand alone version: http://bob.nem.ninja/nis-ncc-0.5.16.tgz
- Extract it to any directory
- Open a terminal window
- Navigate to the directory where you extracted the NEM software: cd /path/to/nem/
- Start NIS: ./nix.runNis.sh

Would be interesting if that works.

i have i tried the method listed here
https://forum.ournem.com/tutorials/how-to-get-nem-started-on-a-mac/
and it gave me an error in terminal and i posted it in that thread

Hi Bonz,  I don't know what they problem is but maybe Mixmaster or one of the devs can help you when they see your logs.

what logs?  NIS and NCC only create logs when they start and they have never started so there are no log files

Edit: just saw Bonz has answered my question in the other thread
