How to update 2.3 after download

Hello,

I downloaded the 2.3 update zip folder and have the folder but I have clicked on a few of the folders inside the nanowallet folder and nothing happens or I get errors or something

How do you upgrade? this makes me nervous its not apparently easy

Thank you

I recommend you to join the NEM Support Telegram group https://t.me/nemhelpdesk and get live support there. :man_mechanic:

You just have to open start.html with any compatible browser and then you should see the main homepage of the wallet.
Then click on login, import your previous wallet, and login.

I will try the help desk

Thank you

WELL I CAN’T GET INTO THE HELP DESK after going to the link.

I explained it in this video, on older version. It works the same.

Agree that this is confusing for people having a “regular” installable wallet and anther web wallet. The last release 2.3 only has a the latter. There is no installation file like previous version.
Is NEM moving to the webwallet fully ?

Also is there a way for me to import my wallet to Trezor? i like to keep my importance score if i can. There is no import function as far as i can see.

You can’t import wallet into Trezor because it creating new private key based on Trezor seed

Standalone builds were not generated because of false positive reported by one of antiviruses.

That doesnt work for me I tried it at the beginning Thanks

I have tried the start dozens of times I have downloaded all the updated files nothing works. I guess I will just never update

?? I thought you used the universal client ?

  1. First make sure you have backuped in safe place private key, wlt file and password. Without it you should not start.
  2. Download new version from nem.io/downloads (click “Universal client with Trezor support”)
  3. Move downloaded file in place where you want to have app and unzip it. Don’t override old wallet just extract in other catalog like “nem wallet 2.3.0”
  4. Open start.html from your extracted app in your browser (chrome or ff roku recommended). Main home page of wallet should show.
  5. choose import and point out wlt file from your backup.
  6. wallet should be imported now. You can choose it from select box and put your password.

ok thanks for info.

By the way, any idea where the wallet (not the universal but the installable version) is stored on windows when i use the regular wallet?
I see you closed the old thread but still the question remains. Where does the wallet store the wlt file?

Not using this version but I guess it would be in Appdata local or roaming user folder (this folder is hidden by default). You can check by putting “%APPDATA%” in explorer or run command then find the nem wallet folder.

For example on Win7 to 10: C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\NanoWallet

Universal client stores in local storage.
Because Windows package is js version build on chrome engine it will be stored in some representstion of local storage.
I don’t think that there will be wlt file.

Wlt file is exported when you creating wallet or on user request.

Thanks for clarifying about the wallet.
I was actually asking about the windows wallet that you install but from your comment i guess both universal as well as the installable version work in the same way. There wont be any .wlt file on the system and both store the data somewhere as you say “local storage”. Tried to search allot on the pc and wont find anything either.
