Hi,
I’ve just reinstalled Windows and I want to run my wallet again. Unfortunately I have only the key of the previous one (this one showed in the left, upper corner of NEM wallet). How can I do this?
If you have the private key to your account you can import the account via the menu item “Add Existing Account”.
That menu item is on the side:
If you have the private key to your account you can import the account via the menu on the left side:
When I add my previous key (showed in the upper left corner) and type password, I got 500 error
Is it posiible to regain a private key if I have a public key, the name of the account and the password?
Do you have the private key to your account or the password to your wallet of the previous windows installation?
Those two things are different!
No. Either you have the private key or the wallet + password to wallet or you are doomed.
I have only Public Key, name account and the password. So right now, I am fu**ed?
Password to the wallet? And you don’t have the wallet any more?
I’ve reinstalled the Windows so I’ve also reinstalled the NEM wallet. I am not able to open my previous wallet - all I can do is creating a new one. That’s why my password is meaningless.
Do you still have the wallet file (that is the file with ending .wlt) from the previous windows installation?
Nope. I’ve formated the drive.
Wow, seems you successfully burned the coins in your account. Any chance that what you call the public key could really be the private key?
Unfortunately nope. It is a public key for sure. So I’m looking for a IT guy who can restore all data. Thank’s for the help.
Good luck, maybe an IT guy can do it, depending on how the drive was formatted.
I’ve successfully recoverd all 442 files from nemwallet folder. All recoverd files came from the time before the drive format.
Unfortunately, when I’ve runed a NEM by those files (on the new computer), I can’t see my wallet.
@BloodyRookie do you have any idea, how can I recover a private key from files? Is it possible?
442 files? That seems to be the wrong folder.
You need the .wlt and .adb files from the folder
c:\users\ < your_user > \nem\ncc
nothing else.
I’ve sucessfully recovered those .wlt and .adb files and I’ve imported it to c:\users\ < your_user > \nem\ncc.
It works! Anyway when I log in with my login and password, my wallet is empty. 0 XEM inside. In the left corner I can see my previous public key, so it should be the same wallet (I’ve transfered to the same key about 100k XEM last week)…
@BloodyRookie any idea, what could happened?
what is the address of the account?
