Interesting IPO's Everyone Should Know About

The thing about crypto ipo's, especially in nxt ae, is that they are not legally binding in any way. Therefore it seems impossible for me to invest any sums over .5 btc to an ipo. Its giving up money in return of only promises. And as we all know nobody ever gets screwed when theres money involved.

Hopefully the nem commercial entity will make it more reliable to invest in ipo's ;)

I suppose risk and reward are inextricably bound. The current IPO business is very risky but if you manage to discern promising projects from scams, it can be disproportionately rewarding. As we'll make things more reliable and risk will be significantly diminished, I think rewards will accordingly decrease with it.

I dont think the rewards will be diminished. The business that holds the ipo will either succeed or dont. The risks will be mitigated since the threat of scams will be lessened.

And also hopefully some of the most ridiculously priced ipos will dissapear that we see today.

I agree with that. Still the rewards will be diminished because as risks will be mitigated and risk perception will decrease, more and more people will start to join IPO's and as an effect the rewards will be divided to a significantly larger number.

To give just one example, I think a lot of people would invest in a project like Nxt if it came along now, but very few had the guts to do so at the time of its IPO because of obviously high risk perception.

One thing to note. NEM raised only less the $100K. The amount of work that is being shown is definitely more than $500K by now and we have something to show. The chances of it being a called a scam gets more remote by the day. Hence, the chances of higher rewards increases.

In the end, as they say, action speaks louder than words. We shall soon see things before our very eyes how this will pan out and how this will be successful.

By then raising money should not be a problem if some of us decide to take an entity to lead  the next stage of expansion in the ecosystem after V1.

Things should get increasingly interesting with NEM during the following period.

Here are some interesting IPO's which will take place during the following period:

I just found this thread.  Pretty interesting.

I long time ago I added myself to the skycoin bitmessage group.  No contact ever.  I still think it is a great idea though and would still like to watch it.

Credits I am not sure about.  As one comment noted "at least pick another name" as there are already lots of coins with that name.  The dev shot that down.  That kind of general lack of insight of not realizing how having multiple coins with the same name could cause problems leads me to believe there will be many other things that the dev of Credits just doesn't get.  Still.... they have a "buy back guarantee" which in theory means there is nothing to lose and only something to gain, so I will still watch it just in case.  But again, I am not optimistic.

Gems just feels wrong to me, but I am not a kid. Hahaha.  I know that what the crypto world really needs is a cyrpto currency that is cool for middle school kids.  The same way that Facebook started off with uni students and expanded to everyone, I think getting a crypto in the hands of the young and letting it spread upward is a great idea.  Governments and old white men control fiat, and they won't be ready to let that power go anytime soon.  If crypto is to become dominant, having something silly and cute like Gems, just might be the breaking point.  I would find it ironic if for years and years Bitcoin tried to breakthrough but consistently struggled, but then Gems exploded because kids could use it on mobile.  It is just an idea and I doubt it, but stranger things have happened.

Ethereum and Storj and Maidsafe all got a little bit of my money, not much, but just a little to be on the safe side.  Two of can fail, but if one explodes on the whole I will be up.

Also, the Supernet IPO wasn't mentioned on here.  That was a pretty big one.

Right now the next big IPO is going on over at NXT.  https://nxtforum.org/news-and-announcements/(ann)-jinn/  It is for CfB/BCnext's next project, the one they were always talking about.  They have already raised a ton of money and you can see here. http://nxtexplorer.com/nxt/nxt.cgi?action=4000&switch=10&id=3061160746493230502&p=1

It is soooo ambitious and totally disruptive and so impossible I don't know what to think.  I went ahead and bought some though.  I am investing in the man, not the tech so much.  He has a proven track record of doing things that others thought not possible.

If your are interested, I would say invest today because I am not sure how long it will last.  The IPO will end abruptly just like the NXT one did.  Even by posting this I am hurting myself as it means I might get less, but I think the NEM people are pretty cool.

seriously promising but risky investment. probably one of the most ambitious projects to come out of nxt. luckily i saw the dump not long after it happened. there were some still left up for sale at 90 but they got swallowed just as my order got placed.. but moments later someone filled it which i was shocked at. extremely lucky to get some. i agree with jabo about the investing in the man and not the tech... if anyone else had posted this project i dont think i would have bought in.

I heard about Jin. I was able to get my orders in just before they dumped.  My goal was to get 1000 shares, unfortunately I wasn't that lucky.  With CfB as the head of the project I feel that they will succeed. BCnext anyone?

Kodtycoon and Effv. You guys should think of something and do the same for NEM. There is much scope in NEM. Take the lead and be a star here!

Jinn has is going to be listed on bter… Was posted over on the jinn thread on nxtforum. Triangle could be bcnext. I don't think cfb is jinn but could be wrong lol @rockethead na something like jinn wouldn't be challenging enough  haha

Good times. It will not be long until we'll start talking about interesting NEM projects like that.

I'm soooooooooooo jealous.  I really wished I would have cashed in my bitcoin and bought more like you did.  It is already doubled in price.  My goal was to just have 100, but instead I ended up with 31 and had to pay double. Hahaha.  Stupid of me to let my bid ride so close.

I am a really really bad day trader, but really good at the long term hold.
