Interesting IPO's Everyone Should Know About

It seems the altcoin landscape is slowly changing and from time to time some interesting altcoin IPO opportunities arise. Lets use this thread to create a list of every interesting IPO out there so we won't miss any of them.

Anybody here investing in ethereum? https://www.ethereum.org/

It seems there are already 3000+ btc invested and 13 days left until the price increases.

Storj is another IPO that's going on. While the project seems interesting, it seems quite overpriced to me.

Thank you for the heads up. It is not easy for me to decide should I invest in Ether or no. It seems very risky investment in terms of return.

Another IPO going on is for Syscoin.

Agree, I think it will see a quite high demand because of the aggressive marketing they're doing, so it's very risky in terms of ROI. Plus it will take a good while until they actually launch the real product(winter 2014 of most probably sometime during 2015) so you'll have to be very patient with them. That said, I don't think one year after their launch they will trade below IPO price, it's just that it seems highly unlikely they'll make you a 10x return, at least not in the short run. But I guess this will all depend on what they will be able to deliver.

Agree, my thoughts exactly.
Also I'm very concerned how little (in terms of total coin cap) the investors actually get.

Btw, the IPO has only started today, if I am not mistaking, so money is flowing in really fast.

Yes.  I must say that I'm surprised.

They have raised about $2.5 million in less than 16 hours! That's a hefty sum for something that is 3 months behind NEM. Maybe more, we don't know. But that is late Winter or 2015 before they release the Beta version or start pre-mining.

I think NEM can do better.

Storj has slowed down and is asymptotic now. I doubt they will end up with even 1000BTC. But that is still a good sum for them to kick start.

I think it will be better for investors if less will be invested.

NEM could do better IF ... and there are a lot of IF here. I saw a post about you wanting to start a group investing in a NEM mobile app. Count me in too but I would like to  see more information on the development team, plan etc before putting any substantial money in.

The thing about crypto ipo's, especially in nxt ae, is that they are not legally binding in any way. Therefore it seems impossible for me to invest any sums over .5 btc to an ipo. Its giving up money in return of only promises. And as we all know nobody ever gets screwed when theres money involved.

Hopefully the nem commercial entity will make it more reliable to invest in ipo's

Speaking of Ethereum here are some of their IPO clauses:

Purchaser understands that there is no warranty whatsoever on ETH, express or implied, to the extent permitted by law, and that ETH is purchased on an

I suppose risk and reward are inextricably bound. The current IPO business is very risky but if you manage to discern promising projects from scams, it can be disproportionately rewarding. As we'll make things more reliable and risk will be significantly diminished, I think rewards will accordingly decrease with it.

I dont think the rewards will be diminished. The business that holds the ipo will either succeed or dont. The risks will be mitigated since the threat of scams will be lessened.

And also hopefully some of the most ridiculously priced ipos will dissapear that we see today.

I agree with that. Still the rewards will be diminished because as risks will be mitigated and risk perception will decrease, more and more people will start to join IPO's and as an effect the rewards will be divided to a significantly larger number.

To give just one example, I think a lot of people would invest in a project like Nxt if it came along now, but very few had the guts to do so at the time of its IPO because of obviously high risk perception.

NEM commercial entity? Am I hearing you correctly?  ;D

You mean to say "...more reliable to be invested into"? :-)

One thing to note. NEM raised only less the $100K. The amount of work that is being shown is definitely more than $500K by now and we have something to show. The chances of it being a called a scam gets more remote by the day. Hence, the chances of higher rewards increases.

In the end, as they say, action speaks louder than words. We shall soon see things before our very eyes how this will pan out and how this will be successful.

By then raising money should not be a problem if some of us decide to take an entity to lead  the next stage of expansion in the ecosystem after V1.
