Is my understanding of wallets accounts addresses correct?

Based of what I understood, in NEM

the wallet can hold many accounts and each account can have only one address. There is no way to transfer XEM from one account to another one without sending a network transaction and paying the fee. Also the only way to find how much XEM the wallet has is to check each account and sum them up.

Is this correct?

Hi
It appears correct yet other folk here will be able to give you a more specific explanation.
But you do know you can use testnet and get some test xem to use on it?
Cheers

Yes. Wallet in nanowallet client can contain multiple addresses. You can add new one when you click Account in top right navigation.
New address private key is derived from main account private key and password you provide. That’s why is important to have backuped both.
In terms of blockchain is no direct connection between these addresses. It’s how nanowallet store and present it.
