Hi guys,
I am an artist and have a really big network that could give massive attention to NEM.
Are there any bounties for this? Because people like David Icke could bring this to a next level, but I think for bringing people in like him, there should be a bounty involved.
There are NEM already available for marketing/ecosystem for people that do things. If you want NEM, then help out and you will get rewarded based on accomplishments.
Is endorsement from someone who believes the world is run by shape-shifting lizard people really what Nem needs?
Well, I think that his thoughts About the FED are known by his followers. Which are a lot. We are creating a new economy movement and are looking for people who support that thought. So what are your thoughts and Russel Brand then?
russel brand is very anti-establishment and has some very strong political views… as much as i may agree with most of what he says, i dont think its a good idea to link nem to anything political. at least for the time being.

My thoughts on Russel Brand:
Ex Drug addict, with marxist ideologies, plenty of money in the bank who thinks he speaks for the common man when in reality, he doesn't have a clue. Case in point: http://youtu.be/tXKQ6eeyhhU?t=3m21s
Disregards peoples questions and typically resorts to character mud-slinging to sidestep an answer. Just as the establishment does. He doesn't get my respect - even if, on some far and few between subjects, i may agree with him.
Russel's heart may be in the right place, but not a chance in hell would I associate myself with him.
Besides, the REAL reason why we're seeing such division and political strife is because we don't have [url=http://youtu.be/wkivn_3zn5I?t=14m16s]honest money backing our nations. With this in mind i think it's important projects like NEM don't get caught up in the petty squabbling that is simply a consequence of a bigger picture.
Corrupted money (Fractional reserve banking, etc) spreads to an economical, political and social level. This is something i believe the blockchain (and NEM) can resolve. Lets keep focus on the bigger picture here.
Well put!
Whether you agree with David Icke / Russell Brand or not is besides the point.
Their followers must be in the millions.
Why not inform them of what NEM is just like we hope to inform everybody of what NEM is.
If they want to say some nice things about NEM then whats wrong with that ?
NEM is not changing for them.
True, I think people like them could bring big media attention towards The coin. It's the only thing at this moment what makes crypto coins thrive
Look what it did with dodge coin a year ago. Not only with dodge but all the exchanges got more activity.
They shouldnt do it for the money only. If they understand NEM and like it, they should help the project. If not, they shouldnt do anything. They will regret later^^

Although i get your sentiment, the biggest problem is ensuring NEM is not associated (or hijacked) by those with a political agenda, which could very likely hinder it's progress to being adopted by the majority. This is my biggest concern.
NEM/blockchain technology may very well be the solution many nations need, but if people associate it with naive political ideals they'll avoid it like the plague (this is after all, a controversial subject) - once judgement has been passed, no amount of facts can sway the reputation it would now have. This would be especially damaging during NEM's infancy.
The only "Agenda" i'm interested in seeing from NEM is what i'm interested in seeing from all crypto's; a message to the establishments that we are aware of the fraud that is FIAT, and the consequences this has upon us as people. Change is what we want and that change should come in form of the blockchain.

David Icke and Russle Brand don't speak for NEM, but they can speak about it.
It is the same thing as Joe Rogan speaking about Bitcoin. He is not an official spokesman, but we he talks about Bitcoin, tons of people become interested in it.
Neither of them are terrorists, gang members, or serious criminals.
Both have big followings. I say give them some NEM.

I agree with everything you say, but I think BTC is the one to watch and flavor the public spere, not NEM. Once BTC sets the tone which it is starting to do, for our early years no matter who endorses us, the main image in people's minds will probably be "another one of those Bitcoins things".
My case in point is that 50 cent, Joe Rogan, and a Republican Senator have all endorsed BTC. In some parts of society each of these people are loved, in other parts, they are hated. I think we would be okay with getting some celeb endorsements, and most celebs will have some negatives that come with them, but getting a tweet out to 2 million people would be huge.
A little bit more about this. As important as we think NEM is, right now in the minds of others we are less than 0% because they don't even know about us.
The old saying of "beggars can't be chosers" I think applies to our first major endorsements. We would actually be lucky to get anybody with a substantial following even the people that are on the fringes already and near impossible to get anybody that is mainstream and popular.
I seriously even doubt that we are strong enough to even get Icke or Brand. I'll be surprised if we got anybody with even half as many followers as those guys before launch and even for a little while after launch.
Furthermore, about the most we could hope from either of these guys is a tweet or a blip on of their interviews. It isn't like they would stop all their other projects and become a full time spokesman for NEM.
All great things start with very small steps.
Thats not a small chance, I could make this happen.
All i need is a go from The community. Besides that I know some celebs from holland that could be of use, all with 60.000+ likes on very post they make. Besides celebs from the house and techno scene where I work in.

I thought i'd post this here, as i've also shared it among others:

I forget the exact details of this PDF file, but i know it was doing the rounds once Doge got successful (I would suggest people do some investigation themselves, just to know i'm not speaking nonsense) - in a nutshell i think it explains how one individual catapulted Doge to success through manipulation and influential friends. It was an interesting read.
A small segment from said PDF:
...
I heavily bought into dogecoin 26-50 satoshis. I shared my trades on
#dogecoin at first. Why? Simple! I am a nobody there. I have expected and
predicted that no one will listen to a trade recommendation by someone new in there.
It will not affect any of my position building but rather gain me some sort of fame and reputation for future use. While dogecoin hits 50-70 satoshis, the truth is, I did not owned 10 billion doge, but rather a mere total of 4 billion. The amount of holdings I had were overstated so as to aid me and mask by exit strategy in the near future.
Now, came the part of Jamaican bobsled team. It was a perfect time for other whales and myself. We signal through buy/sell walls that we are ready to move. It was a test pump. We wanted to see if the dogecoin community were gullible enough to think that it was the Jamaican bobsled publicity that have drove dogecoin prices up.
It's clearly apparent Doge coin's only claim to fame was not innovation, was not some community unification - it was sheer greed, manipulation and spin by those leading the sheep. What this does demonstrate though is the necessity for public support, and through assocation with the wrong people who may try to hijack NEM's message, we will potentially see irreversible damage.
Interesting, but how to explain the extra attention on all exchanges then? It wasn't only dodge's media attention but also other articles about cryptocurruncies back then. It's the reason I got into it too.
Poorly written and mostly incoherent (pot will do that to you), but still an important read: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=896480.0
BTW, this was my 500th post ^ ^
The forum here is bleeding dead… We need action!
