Mobile wallet to Nano wallet fail

I was just reading an issue similar to mine. I had originally downloaded and installed a NEM wallet for my mobile device. I had a balance of 1621. I just recently downloded the Nano wallet on my laptop for harvesting. I tried to send the balance from my mobile wallet to my Nano wallet and it’s not showing up in my available balance. Additionally, I have sent to 2 different amounts from Poloniex to my Nano wallet. And both transactions from Poloniex were successful and are reflecting on my balance. But the transfer from my mobile wallet is still not showing up. After making the 2 deposits from Poloniex my address has changed. I made my first deposit into the Nano wallet from Poloniex and the 2nd deposit was from my mobile wallet. And the address was still the same when I attempted to make the transfer from my mobile wallet to the Nano wallet. The 3rd transaction was from Poloniex. But after the final deposit from Poloniex my address has changed. So I’m not sure what to do or how I went wrong. Please help.

Please post your addresses’ associated with the transactions so that someone can help you further.

Hi Brian, the address you provided in recent post is Poloniex exchange’s “hot” wallet used for all inbound & outbound XEM transactions, this is not your local wallet address. Almost certainly your 1620.023567 XEM was sent in error to Poloniex without a message attached and no way for them to to identify and assign to the correct account. Next steps would be to locate your correct mobile wallet address (can be found under QR tab in mobile wallet), query this address on one of the many block explorers for NEM such as http://nember.ru/ or http://chain.nem.ninja to see transaction and collect transaction hash, this information will be needed when submitting your support ticket with Poloniex @ https://poloniex.com/support/ to properly assign the mobile deposit made without msg.

One word of advice, Poloniex has been swamped of late with a sudden spike in participants and volume at their exchange raising many big and small fires to extinguish, in your case much patience will likely be needed in waiting for a proper resolution. Trust in time they will have it all corrected, best of luck to you.

Yep, that is exactly what happened. I was looking at the Dashboard section instead of the Account section. It was the only address on the Dashboard so I assumed it was the correct deposit address to receive the NEM from my Mobile wallet. In fact, once you are in the Dashboard section under “Confirmed & Unconfirmed” it clearly says Account. And I didn’t really pay much attention to the little green airplane icon until now. Upon seeing the word Account I assumed that I was looking at the proper address. I think a clearer or more defined warning could be implemented to avoid further confusion for new users. And possibly a clearer more bold warning in a bright color in the Account section that states “RECEIVING ADDRESS FOR THIS WALLET ONLY”. Just making a suggestion. I appreciate the help Zero! I hope I can return the favor one day.

Not sure why the previous post with my address is being deleted. It’s not allowing me to repost it. It says (post withdrawn by author, will be automatically deleted in 24 hours unless flagged). Evidently, I have no idea how to post and unpost on this site either. There really aren’t any instructions or tutorials lol! So I was trying to reply to Zero’s message and it some how replaced my previous post. Then when I tried to replace the original post it wouldn’t let me. I’m feeling a little dazed and confused about this forum lol! Is there a tutorial or Youtube video on how to post and edit on here?

Everything posted came across, happy to help and good deal you have this one sorted out.

The forum software is called discourse, but it was hard for me to find any videos of posting examples. Post it here if you find one please.

In general this software is pretty intuitive, and people seem to like its functionality more than the old smf2 software.

I agree, it would be nice to have the users address more visible from the dashboard. I’ll look into options.

I couldn’t find any videos. But a picture is worth a thousand words or in NEM’s case a video tutorial. Maybe we could create a video and post it at the top of the app page or download page so that new users could learn how to use the wallet before they even install it. In the google play store, most apps have a video at the top of the app’s page. And NEM does have a video but you can’t really see how the people are using it. It’s 55 seconds long and shares no information on how to use it. It could, in the least, share a link at the end on where to go for a tutorial. If people know how to use it before they even get started, they will most likely feel more confident about downloading it and using it. We should include links in every version of the wallet so if people forget, or just need a refresher, then the link is there when they need it. This would cut down on a lot of time spent on resolving problems. And I enjoy reading the post in here, but I’ve noticed some of the posts are Russian. Could we somehow incorporate a language translator/converter so that we will have the ability to understand each other?
