very interesting watch…
Huh, about time they spoke about it.
It does raise questions/concerns for me though for Bitcoin (or any other crypto's) future. I can see governments either
1. ignoring crypto's and just carrying on as usual
2. regulating all crypto's, potentially wiping them out in the process
3. creating their own, making bitcoin or any other coin redundant
Highly speculative i know but these sorts of things circle through my mind - I'm by no means educated in this field though so i could be miles off the mark. Still, i can't help but wonder.

i think governments seriously learnt their lesson with file sharing. they know the power of these decentralized solutions. they fought and fought against the likes of napster, bittorrent etc and now they have given up and de-criminalized it, admitted defeat and record labels are a far cry from the juggernauts they used to be. i think this time instead of fighting it, some economies may try to harness the power of crypto rather than fight it so that they do not go the way of the record companies. the end is coming and they know it.. so now they need to find a way to stay on top and that very well may mean they must utilize crypto in their systems if people flat out dont trust banks anymore(which is likely after the coming shit storm hits).

Fair point and good comparison - i remember too well the lengths authorities and big corporations went to to undo torrents and any torrent program available. Ironically i think alot of them ended up being bought out by the very people attempting to stop it; perhaps in a bid to sabotage them.
Thing is, even if they do just buy out said tools, people will sense this and just go to alternatives, or create their own.
