I’ve been exploring using Mosaics, and I have a question.
Is 1 XEM always sent every time you send a Mosaic?
Is it possible to just send a Mosaic without sending 1 XEM along with it?
Thanks!

I guess amount it’s always 1 XEM when you sending from nanowallet, but I can’t find it in documentation.
You also must pay fee in XEM (it depends from couple parameters) so it’s more than just 1 XEM when you add this two.
@Saul @mizunashi do you know where in doc it’s info about 1 XEM in amount field when you are sending mosaic?
When NEM Transaction V2 is used, such a display will be displayed.
Amount is displayed as 1, but it is not actually used.
You can confirm by checking Wallet Balance, but 1xem displayed will not decrease.
This phenomenon has been confirmed with NanoWallet Ver.1 and Nembex.
From NanoWallet Ver.2, this display is gone.
thanks
Actually amount = 1 is multiplicator, used when sending mosaics. E.g. you send mosaic zeus-test:aapl and set quantity to 1000. Then, if you put amount to the whole transaction to 2, then 2000 of mosaics will be sent.
All should be clear now.
Also fee formula for mosaic sending is here: https://bob.nem.ninja/docs/#transaction-fees
