Need help Creating private key wallet,

I am getting ready to purchase DIM and in doing so, i find that NEM is one of the only wallets that will work. So, as I am setting up my wallet, I find that I cannot get past the request to enter my Private key, The problem is I was never assigned a Private key. I am stuck and need to know where to get the Private key that is being requested of me,. Please help.

Thank you

Hello
If you want create new wallet please use “simple wallet” option. Private key wallet is used to load existing private key.

Hello,
Thank you for your prompt help. That was helpful info. So, I was able to
set up my wallet and now have a private key. Does this mean that if I want
to set up a more encrypted wallet (like I was trying to do the first time)
that I now can the ability to do so? And if so, then can I set up 2 step
authentication too?

Thanks again for your help.

I’m not sure what do you mean by more encrypted way (simple wallet is safe). You can secure your account with:

  • Trezor
  • multisig account
If you want only long term hold probably best way is write down or print private key on paper.

You probably should also read (not so up to date but it gives general meaning)

I plan on using a Trezor wallet so maybe that is all I need. The reason why
I bought a Trezor wallet is because my Nano S does not support a wallet
that holds DIM. I read an article that said DIM will work with Trezor. But
I did not see DIM as a wallet supported by Trezor. Thoughts?

Thank you,
Randall Hughes

DIM is NEM mosaic so should be supported like a XEM. @mizunashi could you confirm this?

wait a moment.

There is no problem with the transfer of the mosaic.
There is no problem thinking that it can be used.

Furthermore, there is also JavaScript that generates a secret key from the backup of TREZOR now.
As long as there is this way, there is no problem.

Thanks

So,
The NEM Nano Wallet will accept DIMCOIN? If so, then what does the deposit
address look like? Anyone have an example?
I’m sorry but I don’t have the answer for this right now. DIM is NEM mosaic
so should be supported like a XEM
Thanks

Address is the same. You can store XEM and DIM on one address.
For example you can look on this address:
http://explorer.ournem.com/#/s_account?account=NDC64AJMAFIZSA2OLJZWRYGFMSN7ZHZISCNMZTM5

And also @mizunashi confirmed that Trezor should support also dimcoin.

That’s great.
I’m not sure if you can field a few questions about wallet compatibility
with Nano S ledger and BCC, as well as LightCoin Plus (LCP), but I have
been trying to move those currencies offline. Might you know if between the
two (Trezor and Nano S), I will be able to store those currencies offline?

Thanks again,

@oaktownjerk
I’m not sure. You should check on trezor/ledger page.
Here is tutorial for XEM:
