According to Trustnodes, Nem is in 14th place in comparison to other blockchains in the number of changes made on GitHub, while Ethereum is 1st.

Otherwise there has been 0 changes made on GitHub, why would that be the reason?

Hard to tell because there is no if no which repositories stats they collecting.
