NEM’s paying option of requesting 3 million and 30 XEM to run a node is totally FLAUD!
if only 3000 people in the whole planet decide to run a node that will result in no XEM to anyone.
3000 * 3 000 030XEM = 9 000 090 000…
and total supply is only 8 999 999 999XEM …
Currently that means to run a node u need at least a minimum of 11 bitcoins!!! That is absolutely ridiculous !
Yeah the 3 million xem limit should probably be lowered considering the big price increase we’ve seen in the last few days/weeks.
Many of us have enough XEM since launch or bought them when the price was lower.
If you really need XEM to run a node we can find an agreement…
You DO NOT need 3M XEM to run node. Everybody can run node.
3M xem (and relatively fast server, 24/7 uptime and superfast internet connection) is required to participate in SUPERnode rewards program.
the reward program for running “supernodes” will probably not last forever.
So far there are 84 supernodes so it is 84 * 3 000 030XEM / 8 999 999 999XEM = 2.8% - not really a problem

To Harvest is needed at least 10000 XEM (0.035 BTC @350), so 900K nodes can harvest toghether.

To be clear, a person needs only 10,000 vested XEM to run a node and make blocks. And I test some smaller accounts and these do indeed make blocks. If a person makes the block, they collect the block fee.
3m XEM as a deposit is good for people to get a supernode bonus, but they have to do extra things like run a high-performance node with the correct ports open.
To just harvest with 10k vested, you don’t have to open any ports and could keep your node firewalled from the network if you like.
doesn’t matter, running a supernode will be more profitable than harvesting. They should lower the amount to run a supernode to 500,000 XEM at max.
