NEM Beta 0.4.17

Our dev team has been busy again, so Build 0.4.17-BETA is released.

This build contains a lot of bug fixes:

    [li]Major performance improvements to cope with more transactions per block. We limited the number of transaction after height 24244 to 60 transactions/block. This is because there are people with limited internet speed.[/li]
    [li]Fixed a servere bug that was causing forks.[/li]
    [li]Fixed language files, switching languages should work again.[/li]
    [li]fixed github issues #157, #170 and many more.[/li]
    [li]There will be a hard fork at height 24244. Please wait for that block height before activating your scripts to give people a chance to upgrade before the action begins. :)[/li]


    NEM requires Java 8

    Alternatively, you could just shutdown and restart NEM monitor by double-clicking the NEM icon on the desktop.

If it is 60 transactions/block and 70 transactions get sent out, do those other 10 get included in the next block?

perhaps we should have a specific section on this forum for new builds… i like the way you can find the current and previous builds in one place with out other threads mixed in.

First bug, maybe. When I click "Harvested blocks" there is no amount of 25 last harvested blocks. There is only "NEM" and no quantity.

Also agree about the section. Either that or add each build in the original beta launch thread.

thanks. i think it just seems a bit tidier to have them all in their own section. perhaps start that only once we go live net or something? if there are a lot of releases, the beta discussion section could get very clogged up with new build threads especially if there are a lot.

nope doesnt show.. have to hover over the "nem" like in spider's screen shot.. same goes for "transactions" page also.

red bar all day long , NIS is not available , had a hard time all long , first day hav'nt beem able to get on ? Won't run in windows 8 , windows 7. NIS starts 5 seconds NIS stops . All week been on , but kicked me off a lot . Could'nt get on all day , loaded new 0.4.17 same thing ?

Still there is some kind of problem at the 127.0.0.1:8989 page before login. If you switch the language before login the interface get messed whith lots of extra letters (on fireFox V 32_0_2).

Same here with firefox V 32-0_2

I also noticed there are, in some momments blocks whith 10 or 15 secods interval between then, second block explorer.

Updated and running new beta.
Can't see my balance unless I hover mouse over NEM.
Not sure if balance makes sense, seems to be different then what it should be.

Yes, balance is missing, unless mouse over.

The mouse over? It shows the balance as 2096095.188780 NEM actually it should read as 2096095 NEM 18878 uNEM or 18878 μNEM.

Bug typo has already been reported on the use of m in the github. We need μNEM because the accuracy is up to 6 decimal places.

Today, I checked client info, and I found that my Nem Beta version is 0.4.17.
The upgrading(0.4.12 --> 0.4.17) is automatic? or something happened during my downloading?
(A seemingly fork happened during first try, and I deleted 1st download and re-downloaded and started it successfully.)
In <importance score>,
2-3 days ago, there were <local harvesting> and <remote harvesting>,
but now, there is only <remote harvesting>.

Is your Parana Bot well configured? I can't reach the node under the IP that my node is displaying for your node.

Hi yshin365new,

there is only one button in this version for harvesting. If you activated remote harvesting then the button will read "Start remote harvesting". If remote harvesting is not activated it will read "Start local harvesting". That makes sense since you can't do both at the same time.
