I can speak from experience when we used 99designs in finding the logo for Karmacoin. At first I was completely against the idea of using [url=http://99designs.com/]99designs. I liked using someone homegrown, someone we knew, someone from BTT, etc. After the process, I was blown away. Basically its all done in a competitive process. We pay a certain amount and everyone competes for that purse. There will be a winner awarded. This logo is then owned by whoever paid. In our case, NEM would then own the rights to the logo.
What I would suggest is this. We use our current logo as a basis for their designs. Again, there will be several artists competing so the results might surprise you on just how good and unique they are. Then, when we, the NEMsters, select the winner through a series of votes, we put that logo up against our current logo in a an Old Fashioned duel. Winner take all, and we move on.
I have the poll setup for four days, the results will appear at the end of that time.

The current logo is not terrible. Maybe some adjustments of things like the making the outer line less thick, etc, could make it really amazing.

Definitely a "no" vote from me. There is nothing wrong with the logo now at all. It's modern, clean, and recognizable.
The current logo unfortunately resembles a pair of Y fronts.
I voted for the cube logo because of this.
I do however, love the logos colours.
Maybe consider a logo design with the word 'NEM' using the same colours. Nem being a small word. it should be possible?

I'm fine either way. I vote Yes because we can always just stick with our current logo. If we are going to do it, why not [s]k[/s]now, we are all going to be too busy after launch to deal with it.

The logo was not liked by a lot of nembers. NEM is special and it deserves the best logo it can get. The cost will be a worthwhile investment.

I completely agree.
Nem looks extremely promising, and it would be a shame if it should be ridiculed, due to its 'odd' logo design.
It is important for the Nem brand to look as professional as possible.
Well… I originally voted no, but now I think we should.
My reasoning is like this. I think the logo we have right now is okay. As far as logo's go it is fine, but really we could do much better. I believe NEM deserves only the best, so a definitely support 99 designs.
I find that the biggest fail across the board in crypto is lack of marketing. Everybody just wants the tech to speak for itself, and that is true, but we should let our marketing speak for the tech and then the tech speak for itself. Right now our NIS is sooooo amazing but the NCC and logo don't speak for it nearly as well as it should.

Think of how many stakes were given out to those crappy logo's when we first opened up the call for participation. Each of those stakes is worth a couple bitcoin :)
I have gone through the process of 99designs, i promise you will be impressed. And if not we stick with what we have.
