NEM Mobile Wallet ReInstall Problem

After NEM Mobile Wallet crashing, I dedice to reinstall the app. After installing Wallet, I could not reach my old account details. Basically, my account is lost. There was an touch id login system and nothing more such as private key share etc.

How can I roll-back my account?

Have you your private key backup?

I did not sync my mobile wallet with my nano wallet. So my nano wallet has private key. As I understand my mobile wallet created a new account and did not share a key with me.

But I got a transaction detail.

By the way, is there any chance to open a new account and import my XEM address to new account?

If there is no backed up private key, there is no way to return lost funds.

It is possible to include the secret key from NanoWallet and create the same account in mobile wallet.
If you use Touch ID, you usually think that scenes to enter passwords are extremely slight.
In that case, it is recommended to set as complex and long password as possible.
The private key is encrypted by the password and stored in the device.

Thanks

So basically it is the best option to use a stable wallet/exchange platform such as Kraken etc. Maybe that is why Kraken or other big platforms accept XEM yet.

The best way is to use Nano Wallet(simple) to store your amount(+secure your priv.key/.wlt file) and use the NEM App for the small amounts. With exchanges …mhhh, isn´t so a good idea…

I do not know about Kraken well.
Generally, it is not recommended to place funds on exchanges.
The law of the country where the exchanges are located also enters, but when the exchange collapses, the funds will not come back.

If you are using exchange platform to store any tokens you are not the owner of the founds and your money are so long available as long exchange works. In this case, private keys are stored on the exchange.
Why don’t you back up your private key? After creating an account you should always do this - for example, write down on paper and hide in safe place.
With the private key, you can always restore your wallet even if the application crashes. This can be done using option Add account -> “Enter Key” in mobile wallet or create private key wallet in nano wallet.

the best option is to always make a backup of your account before it has any funds in it. The private key can then be imported into any wallet, and you will always have a backup.

NEM Wallet Mobile App is always crashing after login. I just see my account then app crashing and sending a report.

Is there a solution this crashes besides stop using NEM?

What is the wallet version number?
What operating system?
What device?

Thank you for a respond.

Your only option is to find some recovery software, or paying someone to help you recover your wallet on that device.

Just think about that. I was newbie for these topics.

I searched, read and made a decision to deep dive of NEM. Then I use 2
platforms to begin on NEM tokens. Kraken and Changelly. Their explaination
was simply to do that process. To sum up, I downloaded Nano Wallet of NEM
but my work pc did not allow the program. By the way, I made a backup
Private Key and RAW code of NAno Wallet account. Then I decide to download
NEM Mobile Wallet and open a new account because I could not use other one.
Then the app keep crashing every section I choose. Finally, I did a
transaction to my mobile wallet. After the transaction, the app keep
crashing everytime I open it. Then I decide to reinstall the app. But there
were no information about security of account on mobile wallet which was
not working properly. I could not check the app totally.

I cant say I do not have any mistake. Anyway I can learn the hard way.

why did you not use the same account?
You can import a private key into the mobile wallet

Yep I thought that option too. But I did not do anything on nano one and
probably I can not able to use nano one due to dns problem. Thats why I
choose the create a new one.

IMHO the mobile wallet should be remove from the appstore or at least moved into early access until it works. This is just embarrassing and looks absolutely terrible for nem. This isn’t the only case either. Every week someone reports problems and it’s probably everyday that someone has issues and loses XEM. Get your shit together or just don’t have mobile wallet.

The biggest problem I have with nem right now is the abundance of problems in the wallets. Both mobile and nano are nowhere near to where they sould be imho. If the core devs are delivering such a high-quality product then it is a shame it’s being tainted by poor wallets.
There are many people confused, people lose XEM and I don’t think anyone is particularly impressed with the wallets though I obviously can’t be sure about that.

The mobile wallet should in my opinion be removed from the appstores. The amount of people having problems with it is absurd and many also lose XEM due to those problems. Either get it to work or get it gone. Yes many complains are user errors but a proper app would either not let them make mistakes that lead to loss of funds or clearly warn them about the dangers where that is not possible.

For nano I think it’s mainly a concern of look and feel. It just doesn’t feel like a professional project to me. The developer has done great work in terms of functionality but the UX is just not where it should be in my view. I also don’t get the feeling that there is a clear plan on how to advance the wallet.

How many devs are currently actively working on nem’s clients ?
Can we get some more people on board using some XEM from the funds ?
Is there a plan to imporove this part of the project ?

I think no effort by the foundation - and you guys are doing a great job there! - can make up for people simply having a terrible experience the minute they actually want to use XEM.

I get that the foundation is focusing on attracting businesses but for example Rippple is going that route as well and their wallets don’t suck either. These things are not mutually exclusive, or at least they don’t have to be.

Thank you guy for the //chain.nem. At least now I can glance wistfully at my precious NEM tokens and hope that one day, I’ll be able to access them again :frowning: I’m willing to pay someone to recover my wallet. Previously deleted the app and didn’t save the key or QR (saved the wrong ones). I could cry an ocean and YES NEM better get its shit together if it wants to advance. Too many complaints!
