Easy to use wallet upon launch is crucial that is agreed. And i know that is gonna happen for sure! We have learnt that from the hardway (nxt).
Anonymity isn't a good thing I think, and Tor is not perfect.
I think the most important feature is a really good client for the computer and cellphone. Something that could be connected to a strong and reputable exchange so that merchants can accept NEM and immediately have their NEM converted into fiat if they so choose. All other things are really cool and desired, but should be second to this I think.
I don't think coloured coins are a good idea.
Coloured coins could easily be abused by governments in the near future to discredit part of the coins and destroy the currency like this.

NEM will be written from scratch, some features will be taken from NXT and some will be completely new
NEM will have a completely new POI (proof of importance) forging system. More details will come when it is announced.
NEM improves different features of Bitcoin, removes some disadvantages (e.g. bloated blockchain) and resolves a big environmental issue and energy inefficiency. Time between blocks is one minute. This increases the rate of orphaned blocks, but makes it more convenient for the users.

And yes, it would help harvesters too as every message has a transaction cost. So spammers too bad. And for serious marketers these are quality messages you want your audience to read. :-)

This is good for multiple distribution. But it also leaves no room for errors. :-)
But with rule based (we would like to call it rule based, but other people will call it smart contracts) which is going to be part of NEM, you can even do more.
I would envisage something like that in pseudocode:
When 1407656900 (unix time stamp notation);
Send Bob 10000
Send Alice 10000
Send John 10000
etc.
Do it once and just let it happen automatically.

As we work on a complete plataforn, and not in a bitcoins like wallet, this could be a very good idea.
The idea was tested to know if there is a possibility to work as expected.

I`ll ask Algorista for his plans about the loterry soft. He told on the discussion he`ll work on that this year (have until december).
The translate I can do. Just one problem between translation to Brazilian portuguese? That not possible translate literally. The text gets so weird. So, some adaptation will be needed.

I started this thread when NEM was still a concept. It is amazing to see how far we have come. We are so close to achieving a revolutionary platform that holds so many implications and possible innovations for society!
