NEM & Symbol trading in USA

Hello! I had a few questions. It would be great to get a response…

It looks like NEM trading is much more restricted in the USA than the rest of the world.

Will this situation happen again with Symbol?

What options are available for USA residents to trade NEM?

What is the reason for the restrictions?

what are you talking about?

How do you exchange NEM in the USA? Binance USA doesn’t seem to have it and other options don’t seem available for the USA market. I’m wondering whether symbol will have the same problem and what the reason is. Or is there an exchange available to me to use in the USA?

I agree. This should be resolved for both NEM and Symbol, we are excluding an important market like this.

Unfortunately many exchanges (I believe) are pay to play so it may be difficult to convince some of the bigger exchanges, but if we must pay then we must.

Yes, we need binance.us and coinbase.

XEM and XYM should have theirs one dedicted wordwide exchange, NEM Foundation should do it, together with stablecoins on top of Symbols blockchain. I dont know why they hesitate to do it.

I do not think so. That will not work nowadays. I think it will be just waste of time and money. What XEM and XYM really need is to be listed on top tier US exchanges: Coinbase, Binance.us, Kraken.

It was a chance to be like Binance, but it was wasted by Lon Wong unfortunately. It is not waste of money, but needs to be made with good timing.

But i understad Your point of view, because i know that bubbles are not perpetual

Of course better is to concentrate on good product as blockchain solution. Its only a shame that no one utilize NEM blockchain to do stablecoin on it. It could give some good rewards for harvesters. Now harvesting in NEM is a joke.

Exactly as you wrote. The NEM exchange was relevant looong time ago in 2017. Today it is not relevant thing. I hope for stablecoins on Symbol at least :).

Didn’t know for the issue, I thought in US can trade it for BTC on Poloniex or Bittrex…

Copying from a google search…

“On October 18, 2019 Poloniex announced that it would be leaving the US and stop serving US customers .”

Bittrex nem deposit/withdrawal option seem to have disappeared (for me) in the last 24 hours although it is still traded.

It would be very beneficial for nem/symbol to be traded in the USA market.

Yes, trade XEM on Bittrex is almost pointless at the moment, as they do not support XYM airdrop and you can not withdraw to your wallet from there. Maybe only point trading XEM on Bittrex at the moment is to buy and hold, hoping to sell it for higher price before snapshot. It’s a pity.
