I just had an idea on how to promote nem,
we run a nem lottery on twitter.
create a new twitter account, and anyone who talks about nem on twitter and uses @ournemaccount gets one ticket per tweet for the lottery.
using the twitter api we could easily automate this and send x nem every y hours,
we could also make a small website showing what twitter user got how many tickets, people would trust us more if we would do this,
we even could make this provably fair if required.
I think this should work with facebook too, not familiar with their api, but i guess so.
Makotos running the official nem twitter so we could use that account maybe?
I dont know if its a good idea to base the lottery chances on how many tweets you make. That could discourage some people who havent got the time to tweet 24/7. Imo it should be equal between all whove just posted the certain hashtag.
In general i like the idea though. Why not have the competition run until the launch and include the winner in the genesis block as a stakeholder!
Interesting idea. We are already considering doing something similar. Maybe this could be done after we have one good introduction article about NEM ready and the branding in place. Will be working on that during the following days.
