Hi, I am new here and I have no idea what’s going on. I bought my NEM in 2017 and had forgotten about it because I never received any emails or updates. In the heady early daze I bought dozens of different coins and token, so it just slipped through the cracks until today. I was looking for old coins I had lost to try and recover them and remembered I had bought XEM but not where I stashed them. Luckily I found this forum and learned that there is a chain swap happening! Big surprise but I suppose it shouldn’t be. Anyway, I don’t think they are on an active exchange or in a wallet, I believe they are on either a paper wallet or had been on my cold wallet until I replaced them with another coin and forgot to reinstall them later. So if I do find my XEM, what do I do with them to get them swapped for XYM? Can someone help me please? Thanks.

Nope. You’ll get XYMs for the XEMs you had in opted-in accounts when the snapshot happened. Now you can do what you please.

where I receive XYM ?
If you opted-in yourself using the NEM Wallet you received a Symbol account address (typically in a paper wallet). That’s where you’ll get the XYMs.
If you had your XEMs in a exchange, the exchange will create a Symbol account for you. They will magically appear in your exchange wallet, I guess

I just download the last version of symbol-desktop-wallet v0.15.0 and I will create a new Account with the Symbol private key generated few weeks ago when I start the Opt-In in NEM-Wallet.
