Sorry noob here. Is it yet possible to spawn a new currency from NEM?
You could theoretically use mosaics for that, it heavily depends on what you want to do though.

Yes, you can issue Mosaics (which are tokens and can be traded like currency).
we just need some examples. And these examples shall be produced by the dev team. Just build some mosaics on the system and do some ICOs to see what happens.
