NIS is stuck synchronizing at 151 days

Hello,

I’ve had the NEM client since last june, haven’t run it since then. Tried to run it. Can access the wallet fine however it just say this: NIS is synchronizing. At block 218167, est. 155 days behind. (at block 218167)

I’ve already read the other topic(s) related to this issue and have tried to use the .db file from a link posted in another topic, I believe its the official db or some such. Anyway, when I try that NIS won’t load at all. I don’t want to uninstall just yet but if thats the only thing I can do I will do it. Any advice?

Did you download the latest nis/ncc? If you are still having issues, try a clean install, while making sure to backup your Wallet and Address Book.

Ok how do I do that without wiping out my account/XEM? Are there any instructions anywhere? I’m not as familiar with XEM’s method of doing business and I don’t want to erase my wallet…

Kagetoki: you are probably on a fork. Try syncing from scratch or download the db which is on bob to speed up the process of syncing:

bob.nem.ninja/nis5_mainnet.h2.db.zip

Edit: the database is in the folder c:\users\<youruser>\nem\nis\data. Just replace the db there (after shutting down your NIS) with the db from bob.

Thank you for your assistance. I’ve done that before, but I will try it again. If that fails, I guess a clean install is in order.

i hope you are running the latest version 0.6.73?

Actually I’m at 0.6.28…guess that’ll do it. How do you upgrade versions? reinstall?

0.6.28 is a rather old version ^^ I would deinstall that version, delete the folder in which nis was located and then install the latest version.

That will not destroy my XEM/access to it will it?

as long as you only delete the installation folders, you wallet is not touched. Your wallet resides in the folder
c:\users\<youruser>\nem\ncc

All your xem is in nem/ncc/“walletname”.wlt
Just save a copy and keep it secret.

Thanks, that did the trick!
