No more harvested blocks with fee?

Hello,

Since about 10 days, my harvesting rate is low, very very low. I wonder what can happen.
I used to have about 300XEM for the last 25 blocks, and now it is lower than 20XEM. Out of the last 60 blocks, most of them (58) have 0 fee. Before, very few (<20) had 0 fee.

I have not modified any parameter, nor the XEM amount in my wallet (the importance account number is the same). I use delegated harvesting, and my node runs 24/24

Has anyone noticed the same behavior ? Is it normal (it is the first time I see this) ? And what can be done to analyse/understand this behavior any further ?

( this is a technical question, not a ‘financial’ one  No matter the low XEM gain, I really wonder if something happens in the network, or on my node, to make the null fee block ratio go from 30% to 99%… )

Thanks.

It’s just bad luck.
As long as you are harvesting blocks at around the same interval as before you are fine.
It’s just bad luck that the blocks you harvest are empty blocks, it happens to all of us

The reason is that i don’t let the Alice account spam the network any more. So right now only the (test) payout transactions for the node rewards program is producing additional fees for the harvesters.
Maybe i should let the spammer run until we have real payouts. But from that point on there will be no more spamming

@Xpedite : Yes, it was what I thought, but as it is the very first time I see more than 50 blocks with 0 fee in a row, I was surprised. Usually there is no more than three or four 0 fee block.

This is why I’ve waited a few days before sending this post. The difference is really noticeable, and never happened before. Wondering if something was wrong in blocks or on my node… I will wait and see to verify if it is only bad luck, or if ‘something’ has changed.

Is there a way to see global statistics dealing with harvested blocks ? (mean fee, total blocks, …)

@BloodyRookie : So, there is something modified in the harvesting logic ? Could you tell me more, or give me any link to understand it better ? I don’t see the link between Alice Spamming and the fact that blocks have 0 fee rewards now…

The spammer is releasing transactions to the network which are included in a block. The transactions fees are the rewards for the block. So there is a direct correlation between the number of transactions and the block rewards. Nothing has been changed in the logic.

ok. So there is currently a huge number of spamming transactions with 0 fee ? That’s it ?

What is the use of such a behavior ? Is there something to do to prevent such spam ?

No, the spammer was not running at all so there were no spam transactions that could be put into a block and thus no reward for thr block.

nem id non-inflationary. no more XEM are created, so block rewards are just from transaction fees. block creation time has no correlation with amount of transactions, so also empty blocks are created.

i have been harvesting for a long time and on average i have 7.45 XEM for block which is 186 XEM for 25 blocks.
If you had 300 you were lucky then

Yes, lucky
But now… all the blocks are 0 fee… and it lasts for 2 weeks !

Is it the same for everybody ? Or am I the only unlucky guy to harvest all the spammer’s blocks ???

The spammer is running right now so you should harvest a block with some xem in it eventually.

lol, the problem is you are not getting “the spammer’s blocks”
