Normal account address vs Remote account address

Hi. I am new to NEM. Would like to confirm a few things:

Is it for each Mainnet Account ID will come with “TWO” account address, one is the “Normal Account” address (can be found under “Account” tab) while another one is the “Remote Account” address (can be found under “Managed delegated account” tab)?

Yes that is true. Delegated account should be used for remote harvesting only. You should not send XEM to that address. It is a safety measure that protects users. If your delegated account becomes compromised, your XEM in your main account is still perfectly safe.

Thanks. I have some more enquiries.

  1. Is it so long we follow the instruction by sending 6 XEM and click “start harvesting”, it will be for sure under “delegated harvesting” mode?

  2. I am worry if I accidentally choose an option where my “Normal account” private key will be publicly disclose to everyone?

  3. What is delegated account compromised? How to detect if delegated account compromised?

Thanks.

To explain exactly, enabling Remote(Delegated) Account on the left side of the screen will only enable Deligate account, not harvesting.
Remote (Deligate) harvesting is enabled by setting additional settings on the right screen.

(Also, I think that the old explanation text is displayed as 6xem, but now it is 0.15xem.
If 6xem is displayed on your screen, it means that you are using an old wallet. In that case, please update to the latest version. )

In order to display the secret key, a password is required. And even if you display your password, you will only see it. Your private key will never be disclosed unless you copy and upload it on the Internet.
If there is something to know about it, there are cases where the method of managing the backed up secret key is incomplete, or if the PC is infiltrating into a hacking program such as a virus.

Likewise for Remote (Deligeted) account, no private key can be made free unless the secret key is known.

Also, if you have never made Remote Account Active, then no one knows even the address of the remote account.
However, there is the possibility of accidental transmission of xem and mosaic to Remote account.

However, if you enable Remote account, no one will be late for anyone to that address. In this case, your “Normal account” and Remote Account are linked on the block chain, so your Remote Account is information that everyone knows.
However, please do not worry because this will not lower security.

Thanks.
