I think Jaguar actually meant per account not per person.
It wouldn't really increase the workload for devs.


I actually meant PERSON, but many people seem to have interpreted it as ACCOUNT.

It doesn't look like I can modify the poll to allow people to change their votes. So, I guess I could create a new poll.

I think there will really hardly be anyone holding more than two stakes anyway as it is right now, unless some major NXT whales come in and go on a buying spree before launch.


Actually there are some who hold (way) more then 2 NEMStake.


Oh, I know there are... Just as far as I know that number is fairly low compared to the total number of stakeholders. (Unless I'm wrong...) Either way, I don't think it matters very much at this point.

im a bit shocked that you vote about something always was allowed. I own 10 stakes divided in seperate accounts (according to the rules till now). what should i do if you change the rules now? who will refund potential losses?

so the correct poll should only be about ACCOUNTS, because persons are free to have as many as they want to the rules now.

tbh i dont think it should be limited.. the reason being.. everyone knows some have many stakes.. it will always be there to see in the nxt blockchain history. i just think setting a limit is only going to cause trolls to say that nem core devs are trying to cover the fact that some people claimed many stakes.. its better to just leave this out in the open and let it be what it is..

Thats the reason why I voted for unlimited amount of stakes.
I don't want people to have more than one stake and thats why I myself just bought one, but setting up a rule which can't be controlled will just provoke people and/or make people laugh about the devs/nem community for believing they can control that rule.

We had this discussion a long ago on BTT, AFAIK.  Unlimited but you have to divide into 2 per account or the tokens you send it will be considered a donation.

It would be quite interesting to modify the rules so that we'd allow only 2 stakes per person from now on. But it isn't realistic. I see no problem with one person having more than 2 stakes since we did issue the nemstakes so that anyone can buy them as much as they wish.

How would the per person limit be handled? I mean that would require some sort of id, not?

i wasnt aware it was on a per person basis: this ive no idea how you'd effectively enforce without alot of drama and headache.

nonetheless, when i wrote my previous post what i had in mind was what the original rules were; 2 nemstakes max per account. although this wont entirely stop big whales from hording nem, it's a decent deterrent as anyone with large nemstakes has to go through the effort of distributing the stakes to each nxt account before claiming nem.
