Open NCC port on NIS - good idea?

Hi Folks
I got a NIS up and running on one of my (non-GUI) ubuntu servers.
What I still did not get - Would it be a good idea to open the 8989 port for the internet, so I could access it from any computer? Is it even meant to be like that? Or should the NCC only be used locally?

Thanks a lot,
mebt

not a good idea I would say! And I think NCC even blocks that (can’t access through anything else than loopback)

Making your wallet accessible from the outside is dangerous because NCC has an API that can be easily used to send money, sign transactions, etc.

You should open NIS ports though if you want to help the network, 7890 that is.

Cool. I understood it right then.

Thank you very much!
